Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
How would you feel if this is what we do as the NFL freaks out
12 - Myles Jack 47 - Jaylon Smith or better yet and these two drop into our laps more than once? 12 - Jarran Reed 47 - Myles Jack 78 - Jaylon Smith I for one would love the gamble. what a payoff if one works out. both hit the field in 2017 ? score a big one for the home team. both have long productive years? that would be a draft of legendary proportions. |

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
RC -
If you watched the defense closely last season, it was pretty obvious we need another pass rusher badly. If I were a gambling man, I'd say we have a plan for Spence. A 3 Tech is a HUGE needs down in New Orleans (see article below). Sean Payton lists Saints Your guess is good as mine on the draft order for the Saints, however if you think about all the time, effort they have spent with him he could very well be one of our top two picks. Just for a moment, ignore all of the off the field issues he has and focus on his play. The guy is a serious edge rusher & has shown on tape that he can get to the QB fast (3 Mississippi) and arrive with bad intentions. Que sera sera. |

I'm a fan of Kikaha but I don't think he can hold up as an every down run defender. Teams are going to run right at him, likely with a good amount of success.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
There are better players than Spence in this draft without the past issues that are able to rush the passer and stop the run. All Spence can do is rush the passer, I would rather they not draft a one trick pony in the first

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
For my money, if Treadwell is off the board, this is how I'd geaux...
R1, S12 (Pick 12) DL Chris Jones, Mississippi St; Height: 6' 5"; Weight: 310 lbs. R2, S16 (Pick 47) DE Bronson Kaufusi, Brigham Young; Height: 6’ 6”; Weight: 285 lbs. R3, S15 (Pick 78) LG Conner McGovern, Missouri; Height: 6' 4"; Weight: 306 lbs. TRADE CB Keenan Lewis for late 3rd, early 4th rd pick and select CB Kalan Reed, Southern Miss; Height: 5’ 11”; Weight: 192 lbs. R4, S14 (Pick 112) WR Keyarris Garrett, Tulsa; Height: 6' 3"; Weight: 220 lbs. R5, S13 (Pick 152) NT D.J. Reader, Clemson; Height: 6’ 3”; Weight: 327 lbs. R6, S12 (Pick 187*) TRADED this pick with 2015 Sixth Round Pick traded for DB Damian Swann (2015, R5, S31, Pick 167) R7, S16 (Pick 237) K Jaden Oberkrum, TCU; Height: 6' 2"; Weight: 183 lbs. And I'd strongly scout this Uberwonder outta Germany; bring Moritz Boehringer for a very close look and very intense workout... See what he's about and if he's the goods, think of trading our 7th round pick and next year's 6th round for a 6th round pick... At the very least, determine if he can learn the nuances (e.g. route tree, getting off the line) of the pro game and compete within a year... maybe, put some Gumbo queen on him at the least to start the UDRFA recruitment... Chris Jones was the best rated pass rusher of the interior defensive linemen, so he could actually be a three down lineman... Jones has also played all across the defensive front, so his versatility makes his star that much brighter... Jones is the pick at 12 if we can't take Treadwell to put across Cooks and put a legit threat in the red zone... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............
No way...Chris Jones is definitey going in the first, probably top 20...
He's that versatile, and he can play three downs... Getting a three down player is a big box to check on your first round picks... |
