Re: Nick Fairley in town
We have to assume a Brees' restructure; could clear 10-15 million of cap space easily...

Re: Nick Fairley in town
According to Spotrac.com our estimated cap space is -4.698 million. Something has to be in the works with Drew. I would not be surprised to see something early next week.

Re: Nick Fairley in town
Fairley, Jarran Reed, A'Shaun, Robertson, Lauranitis, Hill, Fleenor, I say the defense will be #10 and offense #2. Brees contract is done. They don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet for negotiating purposes and you know this, MAAAAANNNNNNNN!

Re: Nick Fairley in town
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots are "out" on free agent DT Nick Fairley, and he's expected to sign with the Saints.
Fairley surprisingly drew very little interest on the open market despite showing well in a rotational role with the Rams last season. It didn't do much to rehab his value, however, as he's again settling in the second wave of free agency after inking a one-year pact with the Rams last March. Fairley should give the Saints' interior pass rush a nice jolt. They desperately need it. Fantasy Football player news, injuries and analysis - Rotoworld.com |

Don't overpay for average. The DT position is loaded in the draft. Take note of the Patriots passing.

It could be that Fairley's agent has told the team that the Saints and Fairley have worked out or are very close to working out a deal and they are not interested in the Patriots anymore... And what you call average is better than what we have on the roster |
