, yeah, I know, I'm just trying to express an opinion in a non-trolling manner and still be somewhat optimistic in a situation that I honestly think has huge potential to be a "fail" ... but who knows? It might work out & if Fairley is going to be the force-to-reckon-with that I think he has yet to be, New Orleans is the second best team I'd like to see this happen at, :).
I just hope the Saints don't pay him too much and I'd really like to know the inside scoop as to why the Rams are willing to let him walk. Could it be the 0.5 sack and 18 tackles in 15 games he recorded last season? IDK, he's averaged 2-3 sacks a year/16 tackles a season, but if you take away 2012 & 2013, he's been god-awful for a first round draft pick.
But, like Rez pointed out, he's a big improvement over what the Saints have right now and if Cam Jordan wants a DT, this could be his guy and just might create an environment Fairley will thrive in, #shrug. Combined with a couple of the LB signings and stuff, I'd be pretty happy as a Saints fan because it's starting to look like you just might have a defense to compliment an always potent offense, :).
Like I said, I loved this guy coming out of college and hopefully whatever's kept him from reaching his full potential in the pros has been ironed out in DET/STL and he can be one of the top DL we all know he should be, :).
