When is Drew signing this extension? That to me is the big hang up. I mean, before the season ended Drew said he wanted to sign an extension, Loomis said that he expects to get one signed, Coach Payton echoed the same sentiments yet we have no extension. Am I missing something here? Get this done. I mean we will have at least $30.00 million dollars in dead money fall off next off season. Get this done.

Well, if I had to guess the hold up is with Drew. He saw Bradford get 18 million a year and Oswiler get 20 million a year. Drew is a top 2 QB. If he would settle for 20 this year they could give him 60 million over the next 2. All that dead money falling off would cover and then some over the next 2 years.

Hahaha! I don't even know which translation of Caliente El Gato en Pantelones to choose. I like'em all!

Do hope for those pulling for this deal, that the contract gets finalized soon and we see a lot of this during Fairley's tenure in a Saints uniform...

Would be good for the team if Payton can keep him on the straight and narrow...

You have to consider that we just signed James Laurnitus (sp), this guy should be giving great insight to the type of player Nick is now.
Also, consider that Greg Williams could also be tapped on the shoulder to spill the beans on Nick... That being said, if we do sign the guy we should still be looking to take a DT in the first few rounds of the draft.

This is what I was thinking when I talk about motivating Fairley. Two of Fairley's best seasons were under Williams and Jim Schwartz, both of whom are a little out there, but great motivators. If you got someone like this on your staff, it may work out. If not, it's a crapshoot with him, IMO.

Taking a DT in the first few rounds remains a sound decision, :).
