this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Surprise, surprise. That\'s pretty funny. Saying we tagged him not cause we had a plan for trading him, but cause we had the cap room. This org is great. I guess that 4 game end the season streak was enough ...

Surprise, surprise. That\'s pretty funny. Saying we tagged him not cause we had a plan for trading him, but cause we had the cap room. This org is great. I guess that 4 game end the season streak was enough for them to hope the draft will get us by. This is amazing, in a very bad way. :casstet:

Okay, I am really pissed now!!!!!
i\'ve got my hope for the season... no plan is better than a bad plan. LOL
frustration is boiling on every saint site i peruse. as- would like to know what the hell the front office is doing. I hear rumors of where certain guys could be heading such as Ty Law being targeted by Indianapolis and Cleveland, Samari Rolle possibly going to Washington, or Fred Smoot possibly going to Dallas. I never hear of the Saints being involved in any trades or targeting any of the high profile free agents that have been released. Are they just going to sit back and pick from the bottom of the barrell. |

Ok, everyone, it is going to be alright. I\'m sorry there aren\'t enough rumors to float people\'s boats. Remember though, we don\'t need every man and his dog, and signing a big player before we trade Howard will just make it obvious that we have to trade him (which may effect his value some) - since our cap number is so bad right now.
There are still several LBs and OTs of interest left (and a handful of other interesting players), including: Andre Dyson, Edge Hartwell (though he may not last much longer), Kendrell Bell, Will Witherspoon, Ian Gold, Kareem McKenzie, Floyd Womak (who is underrated), Fred Miller, Chris Claiborne, David Thornton, and even guys like Petersen and Pace, though they\'ve been franchized have not been signed. It is still early, and we may be able to get significant upgrades after the market settles a little. To be honest, I\'ve never liked that we\'ve been conservative in FA the last few years, and I think we\'re in for more of the same. However, I don\'t want to blow the bank on just one guy, we need 3 or 4. |

I agree! There are a couple of other OTs who are listed as good, on several FA lists, as Riley (though, we know, clearly better) who could help us, without having to break the bank. I\'d like to see us get Womak and an OG, instead of paying through the nose for someone like Pace or Jennings.

I have to wonder how all this talk of paying through the nose got started? I never heard anyone say that. I have heard that we have not made A MOVE. Nothing. We\'d love to have Womack, where is he? Why hasn\'t he come in? This is where the frustration comes in. They signed Stecker and Young in 2.3 seconds last year after free agency started. Where is ANYONE at a position of need? They don\'t have to get the best available, actually I am 1,000,000% certain they won\'t. But what happens when Womacks signs elsewhere, then this guy, then this guy? DO we then sit back and say, Oh well, they must have a plan for the draft. Again, I would love to have Womack, WHERE IS HE?

Oh saintfan, the old me could have turned that argument right around and made it about with a similar question, but I won\'t. Instead, tell me where this mystery player is and why we haven\'t signed him please.
