That\'s how I know our hand was forced, just like the 49ers was. We were at the trade deadline and had a below average situation at CB. JT and a 2nd? Come on. The Packers had a disgruntled corner, who they were willing to let sit if he din\'t wanna play for them. If we wanted him WE HAD to overpay. Forced. Also Moss drew a 1st rounde(#7)r and a starting LB. That\'s when you are not forced into a deal. Bailey for Portis, not forced. Our trade for MM, forced.

Finally, I don\'t see why the Howard trade is our last hope? There are still a bunch of upgrades at OT and LB available in FA. Hartwell, Gold, and so on. I listed them in another thread. |

OK, Loomis, here\'s how it works...
Tuna smiling again in Dallas When talking with Cowboys coach Bill Parcells last weekend in Indianapolis, there was a sense that Dallas was going to be very aggressive in free agency. Coming out \"with guns blazing,\" was the term mentioned. \"Those are your words, not mine,\" Parcells said, when questioned about Dallas\' attitude toward spending its cap money. They entered this period approximately $15 million under the cap. Parcells was in a good mood at the combine. He was talking baseball, a passion of his, as spring training got under way. Plus, he likes the addition of ex-Buffalo quarterback Drew Bledsoe, a player who took him to his third Super Bowl back in New England. Despite owner Jerry Jones\' praise of Drew Henson, the coach wanted a veteran, and got one. He also wants to switch his defense to a 3-4 defense, so the Cowboys needed to sign Jets defensive tackle Jason Ferguson, which they did Thursday. They already signed the hottest free-agent cornerback, former Brown Anthony Henry, to go with left cornerback Terence Newman. With the late-season emergence of running back Julius Jones, the Cowboys can be competitive again in the NFC East if Bledsoe can stay healthy and make some big plays. Remember, Bledsoe will be reunited with speed receiver Terry Glenn, who missed half of last season. His biggest target should be tight end Jason Witten, one of the best at his position. And there\'s old reliable, Keyshawn Johnson. Last year, Parcells was forced to start Vinny Testaverde after the team released Quincy Carter because of his drug problems. Parcells and Jones were right about Carter, who abandoned his new team, the Jets, during their playoff run to enter a drug rehabilitation center. There is nothing definite about his future in Dallas, but Parcells sounds like a coach who wants to fix the Cowboys and get them competitive in a hurry. Granted, Bledsoe isn\'t a long-term answer, but maybe in a year or two Henson might be. But the sense in Dallas is, particularly with the staff and scouting changes that he\'s made, that Parcells doesn\'t plan to walk away after this season unless the team is a winner. Even if Dallas struggles again next season, I can see Parcells returning for the fourth and final year of his contract. He doesn\'t want to leave his last NFL coaching job with the team still below .500. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/3436450 Now go forth and sign someone at a need position! |
