I gather that Onyemata will be the back-up to Rankins down the road.

Or a 0/1 Tech...

Chatter has been that Payton and D.A. don't care for John Jenkins...

Which makes sense. It's not about filling holes more so than improving weak positions.

Yes! This is my point. Y'all can pretend to be armchair GM's, but you cannot have more than a fraction of the information on these players than the people in that draft room. Then y'all ***** and moan about every pick made.

And, no, I am definitely not a "yes man". Far from it, but I am intelligent enough to know what I cannot have the ability to know.

Smith was suppose to be all that promise prior to injury...

Then every scout who saw the medical reports and consulted doctors from all over the country basically said he'd be lucky to play again...

And then Dallas takes him at the top of the second round...

Sounds like Jerruh is playing with a marked deck, Texas style...

Now Smith is saying he could play this year. Sounds like a complete set up. Push everyone else away and get who you want with inside Knowledge

We started discussing this last night...Not one bright-eyed bushy tailed professional know-it-all reporter even posed this question...

Yeah. He's a broken record and a hypocrite to boot. All fans are idiots who don't know any better. All except Guido of course. With his accounting degree and obvious clairvoyance.. thank God he's here to guide us poor little peons.

Dont know anything about this kid.
If he can set the edge and help in the run game early on it could be a good pick
All the raw ingredients looks to be there. Will be interesting to see what he brings

What was the trade guys?

And they most have more ability to do the job in their little finger than you do with every resource you can currently muster. Not a slam on you. That's simply a fact. Do they make mistakes? Sure they do. It is an imperfect profession. But I still have more confidence in what they do than anyone on any fan site.

Nope. If you go back an read every post I have in this forum you'll see that I never imply that I know anything more about personnel moves than anyone else. I do, however, state that NONE of us know what the professionals know, and I'm not including anyone from the media side in that.

I've seen all your posts old fella. Been here a good while myself.. and the thing that almost all of your posts have in common is that you're constantly calling people and/or their ideas dumb. I don't care if we all disagree, but there's a way of doing it respectfully, and you are hands down, far and away the most disrespectful person on the entire site.. and that is what I'm sick of. I disagree with TONS of what you have to say, but I rarely even make it known, let alone come out and try to brow beat you.

Saints trade up for mystery man Canadian DT David Onyemata | NOLA.com

Quote:

"Intriguing, ascending prospect who garnered the attention of several NFL teams at his pro day in Winnipeg, Canada, and Onyemata did not disappoint."
"Big, powerful frame. Has some violence and jolt in his punch. Big hands with good arm length. Has potential to be snap*-winner at point of attack with NFL coaching."
"Tremendously raw and inexperienced. Has played the game for just four years and may not be ready to contribute on a regular basis for at least a couple of years."
"Onyemata has the potential to become an eventual NFL starter on the interior.

Can you back that 95%? They're plenty of new sources for the Saints, you should try the Saints Report - you and Mike Detillier would get along smashingly discussing how the Saints FO is so perfect and wonderful and everything is just 1950's...

I understand that this draft stuff is a source of entertainment, and when taken as such I can see how y'all have fun at it. But when y'all get twisted out of shape because the real world doesn't agree with your fantasy world and begin claiming that nobody in the front office knows as much as you, it gets a bit ridiculous. I have better things to do than study every kid leaving college and attempt to value them in the Saints system with little to no relevant information.

To me it is no different than fantasy football which I love, but which most people know is not real. Treating it as more than entertainment is puzzling.
