Or taken Rankins in the first and Keyshawn's nephew in the second round?

The way the draft fell
Laremy Tunsil ROT Ole Miss 6050 310 - Peat goes to LG
Jarran Reed, DT/DE, Alabama 6034 307 5.21

Preference
Reed over Rankins - we will regret passing on reed as teams as teams Dbl team Rankins to the concession stands. the kid will need help and the saints do not have a DT that requires Dbl teams
Hate to say it probably Doctson over Treadwell it would have been hard to pick between the two. I would have flipped a coin in the war room.

Damn....kinda wanted D. Jones so that we could add some speed to our defense.....we still need to address that..

Hey, my love was for Treadwell, but it would seem a better outcome Doctson/Reed than Rankins/Thomas...

One, the skill is more acute in WR than DL...

Second, draft was so deep that Reed was still there in second round...

Third, Reed can play multiple positions, multiple fronts; Rankins is strictly a 3-tech...

Dont think it will be a issue
I could see a similar set up to the Giants when they had Bradshaw and Jacobs. Murray taking the early snaps but short gains-Goaline and when tbe game needs killed Henry comes in a and moves the chains - clock

I would have taken Boyd over what's his name from OSU.

I can't remember seeing his name on your draft lists, so is he any good - potentially?

He is potentially a stud in Payton's offense.

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

he might be. you got the QB issues at OSU but I do not like the fact he is not what I call hard nosed. he gets pushed around at the line way to much and his route running leaves a lot to be desired. then he is not what i call a natural pass catcher. hands need work. a year on the jug may help. the rest is all time will tell.

That is why I liked boyd more. none of these issues

FinSaint 04-29-2016 08:16 PM

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

Well at least they now have two tall receivers to post up.

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

To be fair you can teach his route running but not good hands and body/size. Hopefully he will get a nasty streak going

Where did you get that idea? I've heard he is hard-nosed and is a good route runner. I guess it all depends on who you listen to. 90% of experts are full of crap.

Wow...Colts really reached on that pick...

Chuck Paganno is in his last season...

If the owner was such an out-and-out lush, and would've been a true leader, he'd gone to Chuck and asked him to resign and kept Bruce Arians...

I keep liking this pick more and more I read. Everything about him is how hard he works and how he wants to be great. Man you can't go wrong with that:

Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer even touted Thomas as "the most competitive player I've ever had."

Ohio State WR Michael Thomas is picked No. 47 overall by the Saints - SBNation.com

Definitely, and the thing is he will want them to coach him up. That's awesome

Spike, you're reading SBNation...

Try some of the other reports, scouting services like NFLDraftScout, PFF, Walter(Football) Cherepinsky...

It'd be a round early, but the position is thinning...

But McGovern, Thuney are better options...

Westerman's best projected position is at Center...

Now we just traded for Unger, he's contract expires after this season...

Do we let him go and go with Westerman?

that is why I said "QB issues at OSU." WR gel with a QB and OSU shuffled QSU around like crazy over the past 2 years. so there is my out and his. My acknowledgement I had a hard time getting a real read while watching him play. I do know the games I watched, 12 or more, the best way to defend him is up in face and knock him around.

Don't believe the hype...

His team just had, what? five No.1s ? And look at the results...
