Nice pickup! Now to free agency where there is a better guard than any left after the first round.

;)

Who needs interior O-line.

Good grief we got some whiney ass wannabe GM's on this site.

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

If we were going to take a skill position player I would've rather it been Charone Peake.

AsylumGuido 04-30-2016 05:14 PM

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

Lasco can be a great back or special teamer. He was projected at a third rounder.

No crap. The funny thing is that not a single one of their picks came true. To me that is a good thing. LOL

doesn't matter who's at the skill positions when Brees is running for his life almost every time he drops back to pass

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

There has to be something up with the offensive line... Could it be they're comfortable rolling with Armstead|Lelito|Unger|Peat|Strief as the starters?

exile 04-30-2016 05:16 PM

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

Easily the best draft in a few years for the Saints. I think they all can start on this team. Michael Thomas is gonna run some CBs into the ground.

No issue with this line

Danno 04-30-2016 05:17 PM

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

Perhaps Lelito-Kelemete were better than the OG's they had to pick from?

Perhaps they have 3 or 4 rated the same that we can get via UDFA?

Perhaps they have a list of a dozen free agent vets better than what was left?

It looks like there's gonna be quite a few really good players that go undrafted. That's where we shine! This day is far from over.

AsylumGuido 04-30-2016 05:19 PM

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

But, there is a free agent named Jahri Evans that can be brought in and be better than anything we could have got in the draft.

;)

After the draft we currently have more RB's on the team then O-linemen.

There are absolutely no issues with our line RC...Brees almost had his frigan arm ripped off last year because he holds the ball too long

Brees won't need to be protected for the next several months. Just wait and see.

he almost got his arm ripped off because Strief has lost a step and got burnt by a 3rd string DE

WillSaints81 04-30-2016 05:24 PM

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

We still will have issues running the ball so hopefully we don't attempt to run the ball in the first half like last year. Someone said guard play was why Ingram got stuffed on those first down runs.

No sh*t, I was intentionally being sarcastic because I agree with you. We need guard help, bad

If he signs we will have a total of 8 O-linemen. It's the point that O-line gets hurt and gets hurt often. And if the Saints were so big on keeping him they would of worked something out. His dead money right now is 2.5 million.

WillSaints81 04-30-2016 05:26 PM

Re: 2016 Saints Draft Live Discussion Thread

Why do people think we are going to pay Evans to come back? He was asked to take a paycut because his play has declined and saints needed cap help. Drew restructuring for that is just lame.

You don't think Connor McGovern, Vadal Alexander, or someone like that would have been better than what we currently have? Or Tretolo from Arkansas. All could have been had in the 4th, and a couple could have been had without trading up.

I don't think the Saints passed on any of them because they weren't good enough. They obviously had their hearts set on the player whose name is already eluding my memory.

they better be burning the phone lines for any and all Offensive Lineman that are available in UDFA

His "declined" play is still better than anything we could have picked up in the draft as a rookie guard. Brees is going to extend/restructure anyway. Of course, you reportedly blocked me because I hurt your feelings so you can't read this unless someone quotes and replies.

There are plenty of depth players in the UDFA pool.

No. Where did you here that. I read they didn't have the cap space to match his demand. Jahri has learned what his real market value is by now.
