I think it's time for Drew to consider taking a lower salary, NO PLAYER IS WORTH 25 MILLION A YEAR TO PLAY FOOTBALL!

and if the Broncos want to pay that then let them have at it. I'm not going to worry about 10 years from now when we need to worry about today and the Saints current situation.
Why on earth does it matter to you how much he gets paid? It's not your money. If he gets a new deal it will be front loaded and cap friendly, plus the cap goes up next year AND a lot of the dead money we have now will be done with.
It has no effect on the teams ability to sign players in the future.
You take this way too personal, but I am sure you would walk up to your boss and say "hey boss, I know I am worth more but I would like to take a pay cut or forgo my next raise for the good of the company. I think you are paying too much out of pocket for my salary"

This seems obvious to most, but our friend here is one of the irrational few that cannot accept reality.

Market value is not an opinion. It is an economic FACT.

An opinion is stating something like, "Personally, I don't think any player is worth $25 million."

On the other hand, stating, "NO PLAYER IS WORTH 25 MILLION A YEAR TO PLAY FOOTBALL!," is not an opinion. It is stated as fact and you know darned well that very soon there will be dozens of players making just that. Reality is and always has been and always will be that actual worth or value is set by what the free and open market is willing to bear. It is one of the most basic principles of economics.

Just because clubs choose to pay players the so called market value that doesn't mean my opinion about it is wrong it's still my opinion that no one is worth 25 million to play football.

Yes, stated that way it is your opinion and it is also not reality based upon the absolute definition of market value. It is your right to believe in something that is in all actuality false, as illogical as that may be.
