This Lewis thing, I'm not sure about yet. He absolutely drew my ire, and that of others, when he got all butt hurt about his contract a while back. People try to inflate the value of players all the time, but when you are UNDER CONTRACT, you have no right to complain. Nobody owes you retroactively if you out play your deal. Just keep playing and you'll make good on the next deal. Instead he couldn't stay healthy. So that doesn't make him look good.

However, this seems really early to release him. Would it REALLY be so detrimental to just wait it out till final cuts, instead of cutting him now and letting bubba bo bob brain, or whoever, get knocked around at the bottom of the roster for a couple of more weeks instead of Lewis?

That's my only issue. It's not like he was going to cost PJ Williams or Delvin Breaux a roster spot. I can only guess that there might have been some off the field problems with his attitude or something. But that isn't confirmed, so I'm still just a little surprised.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
