A defense success should not hinge on just one player getting hurt. We all should have seen it coming since none of the other CBs have ever played in a regular season game. To the teams credit, or not, they did lose several other starters they were counting on and the loss of Greer was the biggest. It seems like they are making these decisions to let players go way to late in the game.
I dont know how much our defense will improve because I have seen no turnovers, (problem 1 last year), no pressure (problem 2 last year), and questions marks among the DBs (problem 3 last year).
Wouldnt surprise me if we only moved up a spot or two from last year.

AS for the drunk comments if you guys dont know its been a problem then you are blind or dilusional. Vicodin scandal, slurring at press confrences, and basically being seen around town trashed on multiple occasions. Too much smoke.

Myself I am trying to be as objective as possible and try to see Sean's side of it. You are right in that we can't even begin to know all the info that goes into the decisions being made.

But to me it's more than just the questionable decisions, it's the timing of how things are done.

Even before the Breaux injury, we should have had a contingency plan for Keenan Lewis not being healthy enough. From what I know, Finnegan was available all of free agency. Probably several other serviceable corners were available to bring in too, like Sterling Moore. Yet we refused to make a move for a low-cost veteran corner until well into August, which is self-defeating because it's awful late to bringing them into our defensive system. Why didn't we add someone like Finnegan around the time we added Laurinitis? Depth at cornerback was desired, even if it looked like Keenan and Breaux would be healthy, because we are so inexperienced and young at the position.

We basically gave Spiller a roster bonus just to turn around and cut him. What is worse is that we used up a roster spot that could have been used on someone that could contribute - Finnegan or otherwise.

It just doesn't seem that we have a concrete plan of action with some of our personnel. It seems we lack in contingency plans and just put out fires when they come about. I'm not saying every other organization in the NFL is on top of things, but many seem to be compared to us.

Well they have dealt themselves most of that hand with the roster they constructed.

I don't get the comment about the front office? They are picking the players.

We had to sign a CB. We couldn't place Breaux on IR. A player HAD to be cut. Spiller for one reason or another was the best option. That's it. And, yes. The NFL is a series of fires. You think we are the only team that goes through this. I read this same crap on every board in the league to a degree, but I am hearing more *****ing here that most others recently from a handful of nonstop *****ers.

The injuries! You can't do crap about that except for rolling with the punches. Our so called defense would be much better with every player we lost so far this year. Blame that on drunken assed Payton and that dumbass Loomis.
