Well I've gone and done it!

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; He's not a bust, but a valued contributor...maybe not worth the multitude of picks spent to acquire him... not that it would matter anyway in light of our stellar recent draft history....

Hell, I'd join the forum just to get kicked out...

From what is posted it would seem SR loaded with a-holes...

Fortunately, we've only got a couple of a-holes in this forum...

...and they're identified, well-managed in the forum...

I think someone meant "Jonathan Sullivan" when comparing busts of 1st round picks. If MI has a nickname like "lunchtable", then we might want to reconsider. Otherwise, though not spectacular, bust is not a defensible assessment of Mark Ingram's NFL tenure.

now that we have kuhn for short yardage , i'm seeing ingram as a better back now. yall have to admit mark was turable in under a foot yardage. just not a blow out whoever is in front of him back. but if he has any kind of gap he drills it.

Take the LSU glasses off. We need defense, offensive lineman, and even maybe a QB .not a RB
This is one of those times where saying "I respect your opinion" is not applicable.

First off, to say that Leonard is not an NFL RB is the most absurd and anti-LSU biased statement I may have ever heard. No one could stop Fournette, including Florida's "vaunted" defense last year, until the bama game. Bama loaded up against him and dared LSU to pass, which they did not do. There is a reason Les Miles finally got fired. No human being on earth, no matter how talented, can run through a wall. He was given ZERO chance in that game.

Nobody has the combination of size, speed and all around ability as Fournette since Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker.

Secondly, why don't you quit complaining about threads talking about drafting LSU players? When is the last time there was one of those? You bring it up in just about every thread when no one is talking about it. YOU are keeping it alive. Move on.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Are people really that dumb?
A whole lot of people? Most people in this thread have actually said he's at least decent.

He was terrible for the first three years, not just statistically, but just watching him run into the backs of his linemen and falling down was really depressing.

He IS now a decent player. I don't know what being in his sixth year proves. The guy rode the pine for much of his early years due to the aforementioned running into linemen.

A guy like Fournette wouldn't necessarily need a front line that is better suited for the run versus pass. Think of it as having Deuce back in his prime again with a little extra speed. A combination of Fournette and Ingram could also pay off with better ball control and the ability to close games out by seriously wearing out opposing defenses.
I don't think Fournette would be any more effective with limited carries. But we are in more third downs than any other offense in the league of our caliber or in the top 10. That's because of the 3-5 yard runs. Fournette might be a diva(ODB is) and will complain about less carries also.

That's it. I was saying it with kid gloves too because I know how sensitive they are over there. I was right but they didn't want to here it.

I love Ingram and have wanted him to work out so bad. He wasn't worth what we gave up to get him but he is still a solid guy. When he gets into rythem he is a beast. Key word is when. I like his attitude though. Never hear a peep out of him *****ing about his carries.
Reggie actually did end up a every down back in Miami but he went to the wrong team after who tried to make him what he was in NO. Same with SF. Miami's obsession with wanting to be a pass first team with a mediocre qb sent Reggie out the door. But with us he was not as effective.
