I don't think we play a team as good defensively, (possible exception is Cardinals) the rest of the season.

We are one game out of 2nd place; after we sweep out the litter box Thursday night we will be back at .500 and in second place.

I don't remember any additional injuries that look like they will be long term.

Was this game winnable; absolutely, but aren't all of them?

Too early to discuss the wild card. Nothing has changed from last week where the Saints control their own destiny in terms of the division. There are only two teams at this moment we need to have any concerns about: The Saints and Atlanta. The Saints have two jobs in terms of playoffs:

1. Win all division games.
2. Remain no more than 1 game back in the loss column in respect to Atlanta.

Right this second the Saints only need to accomplish 1 thing to meet both goals: BEAT CAROLINA THURSDAY!

When the Saints Win on Thursday, they have absolutely nothing to worry about for the next 10 days. Presuming the Saints can sweep Carolina, which will put them completely in the Saints rear view mirror, the Saints will be one game back in the overall loss column and even in the division loss column with the Falcons.

I feel the need to be blunt. If the Saints down the stretch cannot do what it takes to win the South, then there really should not be any discussion of playoffs anyway because if the Saints cannot take care of Carolina, TB, and Atlanta, then nothing else matters.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.
