Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Looks like we've got somethings happening with the LBers...
If Klein gets the signal calling duties, he could be the SAM on early downs and the MIKE on third and longs... Anthony and Anzalone look like the WILL LBers... Stupar and Mauti are the other two SAM backers... Te'o had the day off today... Robertson is probably the most versatile of the LBers, able to play all three positions with WILL and MIKE his strongest... Bighill looks to be putting up a fight, but his size has his challenged in what now seems a good group of players... |

I still have Derrius Guice RB LSU 5106 222 4.45 #5 Jr As my #1 "on the radar player" for the saints 2018 draft. Can Derrius be an effective weapon out of the backfield is the only thing left to prove. He is probably the #1 pass blocking RB already. Pass blocking is the second most important thing a RB can do. In the saints offense it is a 1B ranking. Kamara ability to pick up the blitz and pass block was my number 1 issue with his game. but he is willing. Derrius is clearly a top 5 as a RB. In terms of potential, Guice may have the highest ceiling of any back in the entire class If the Adrian Peterson experiment does not work out Guice is a solid move in the draft. yet it Peterson works out .... Ingram, Peterson, Guice and Kamara would be something to get giddy over in the 2018 post season. Ingram can walk at the age of 29 as a FA and not hold us hostage to another $6+ million a year in 2019. Derrius should be ready top step in and take over. Depth and cap figured in I have trouble seeing a down side to a pick like this. Now all Guice has to do is live up to the hype in 2018 In reality it will turn out to yet another year we pass up a smart safe pick for something else just like with O.J. Howard in 2017. |

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
RB? No way. Look for guys like QB Josh Allen, DE Sam Hubbard, OL Mitch Hyatt, OL Quenton Nelson, QB Jake Browning, maybe NT Vita Vea (but Onyemata/Davison looks promising)...yeah, that's the ticket...
