Our defense stinks because our recent picks and FA moves stink. Sorry, but that's just reality. |

Mixon has Sproles speed in a 6'1 220lb frame. That is a mismatch if ever i have seen one Or Curtis Samuel*, RB/WR, Ohio State Height: 5-11. Weight: 197. Projected 40 Time: 4.44. Projected Round (2017): 1-2. 2/25/17: Sources have compared Samuel to Percy Harvin in terms of being a fast, explosive play-maker who is a hybrid wide receiver/running back. In 2016, Samuel had 74 receptions for 865 yards with seven touchdowns. On the ground, he averaged 7.9 yards per carry for 771 yards and eight scores. Samuel has play-making upside for the NFL. As a pro, he will be more of a receiver than a running back. Samuel runs quality routes with the speed and suddenness to get separation. He can stretch teams vertically and is a dangerous run-after-the-catch receiver. With his speed and bulk, Samuel could line up as a slot or outside receiver to produce mismatches. He also could operate out of the backfield at times. If Samuel goes to a creative offensive coordinator, he could be a real weapon. |

Re: Brandin Cooks Officially Traded to Patriots
So we traded Cooks and our 118th pick, to move up 15 picks and gain a 32nd pick.
The Patriots won this trade easily, they didn't send us a defensive player, they got a player worth much more than the 32nd pick and for good measure they got a 4th from us. The great SP and mickey loomis duo strike again. If we had atleast kept our 4th and gained their 3rd as well as the 32nd I could have lived with it, or if they sent us a defender. They fleeced us and SP/Loomis allowed it. |

Re: Brandin Cooks Officially Traded to Patriots
Well the option here were really between getting a first rounder and some change in return for Cooks or having him for another year and then probably cutting him for cap reasons because there is NO way we would ever have paid him the $10M per year he will command.

Re: Brandin Cooks Officially Traded to Patriots
I still don't see how we lost much in this trade. Cooks was a deep threat guy only. He wasn't our so called #1 WR or even our so called #2. It isn't like he was a QB either.
He was a guy who started to show he didn't like playing here and was going to be due a big pay day eventually. Could we have done better... probably but it is what the market gave us to move him. We really have to move some O players that we could live without and as much as I like him, looking at it as business this is a move we have to make to get some D talent. It all comes down to how this pick is used. |

So SP was just blowing smoke up everyone's a$$ when he said it would take a significant offer to trade away Cooks.
