Re: About the Joker RB thing
Jamaal Charles is a different kind of gamble in that he's almost always hurt. AP has had some injuries in recent years, but has usually come back strong, and just two years ago ran for almost 1500 yards. I think AP has plenty left in the tank for right now, but with Charles I just think it's too many injuries piled on top of each other. That would have been too much of a gamble.
I think the reason they drafted Kamara, whether it was right or not, is that they saw a guy with first round talent sitting there in the third and thought to themselves "Ingram and Peterson won't be around forever, so why not draft our guy now, and work him in slowly, rather than have to replace those guys a couple of years from now with a rookie". Obviously, they can use Kamara in a Sproles/Bush type role, but unlike what most pundits are saying, I don't think he's quite that type of player. He is a good receiver, but I wouldn't define him as a scat back. He's a bit better of an all around RB, at least on paper. I really think they view him as the main guy in a couple of years. I wouldn't have picked him there, though I do think he is a good value for what he is, but I'm trying think along with the Saints on this one to figure out what the reasoning was. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
