And so it begins.... Max Unger out

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Mark Ingram is such a tremendously high-character and beloved teammate... Trading him would be a massive mistake morale-wise. Say what you want about his on-field performances, but he's nothing short of a perfect role model off the field....

I heard that he got pissed in the game against the Cards. But that's all I know of. Except him getting pissed after he got tackled so close to busting one for a big gainer (which doesn't bother me a bit because it seems he's pissed at himself), I don't know of any more. If there were several times when he threw a fit on the sidelines, I don't know about them.

I've never seen him get in trouble off the field. I haven't seen any tweets that were ill willed or showcased some sort of antisocial or passive aggressive attitude.

I'm not saying he hasn't done any of the above. I just haven't seen anything except the Cards game when he was doing a lot of the running in the middle of the field and Hightower was punching them in near the goal line. I didn't like that because a score is a score. But that's all I know of.

And he reacted well to the benching he got and came back running like a psycho.

I like Ingram and don't understand all the hate on the guy. If I'm wrong please enlighten me.

Nobody hates Ingram. He just isn't a transcendent talent like an Adrian Peterson. Look at it this way. The only time Ingram performs it seems is when there is another running back threatening to take his place. If it takes you to get benched multiple times at this point in your career to light a fire under you something is wrong. Why else would they bring Peterson in here when he would play basically the same role as Ingram.

Let's break this down. Ingram is a back who needs volume and gets stronger as the game goes on. Peterson is a back who needs volume and gets stronger as the game goes on. The Saints could have picked up any younger back that's out there if the only requirement was to spell Ingram. Isn't Lasco on the roster? Could he not spell Ingram? Didn't they also just draft Kamara? Could he also not spell Ingram?

I'm just putting two and two together man. It's just not looking good for Ingram. What do you think is going to happen if Peterson comes in and looks like the player who ran for over 2000 yds? Not saying it will happen but if it does it's gonna be hard to keep that guy off the field. If Peterson starts to garner more touches than Ingram you already know he's going to throw a fit if history has anything to say about it.
