I hope he gets this resolved and returns to the Saints to finish out his contract.

injury settlement time

Based on camp injury and the worries as players injuries started to rear it's ugly head

2018 nfl draft
R1 - Vita Vea DT Washington 6041 332 5.19 #50 rJr
R3 - Frank Ragnow C/OG,Arkansas 6052 319 5.14 #72 Sr

Top FA signing - not sold we have the starter yet
Stephon Tuitt DE Steelers

Now you have a solid DE rotation.

I would have took Vea this year if he left college. I also like the Arkansas guy. Both should be solid blue collar picks. Don't know if the Steelers let go of Tuitt.

Health first, good decision by all. I hope there is a procedure that can help him live a long, healthy life with less worry. No reason to risk it. My football fan brain does lament not having both he and Junior (with his head on straight) out there with Rankins and Jordan.

Don't know the contract. Haven't heard from front office about it. Here's a supposition. IF they did not have a clause concerning his condition and playing they BLEW it. If they did have a clause..It was a head's up contract. One thing for sure - going forward they will have a clause for all such contingencies.

I know they have contingencies built into Manti Te'o's contract with him coming off his injury. But, guarantees in contracts are guarantees. Now, they could negotiate a reduction of guarantees such as signing bonuses. If they want to be hardasses they can even try to prove the players failed to report conditions they knew about that were unknown to the team. That is standard verbiage in the NFL player contract.

I heard mentioned on NFL Radio that it may have been arrhythmia that was detected at the OTA exam. That can arise in anyone, but obviously more likely in someone with an already known heart condition. That would be a heart beat that was too slow, too fast or irregular.

I think they signed him to take care of him knowing his condition was not good. His condition is progressive from my understanding. Improbable it went from fine to horrible that fast.

You have to look at a players career... you can't judge off one season he is inconsistent over his career... he had a good year and deserved to get paid I'm not against the contract...
