I believe that we as fans wants the Saints to be among the elite teams in the NFL in 2017. But until they actually compete against those elite teams with the personnel and schemes designed to beat them, it's truly an unknown as to how it'll all come out. Re: 92 Passing Yards Allowed and 8 Sacks
The D looked good last night. I still have concerns and want stir that kool-aid, yet. The Chargers O-line was missing both T. This game reminded me of Gregg Williams blitzing San Fran in 2011 in preseason, it looked great but when playoff time rolled around San Fran knew exactly what to look for, we all know how that turned out. Glass, spoon, water and Kool-aid is still on the shelf in my house.By game 6 we should have a very good ideal what our D has or hasn't got. I'll take the win, it's been awhile.

Man..I don't care who they were playing..that D looked good! I will take it! It has been a good while since we seen that kinda speed from lb's in a Saints uniform. And regardless who was in the lineup from any preseason team we face, playing like the way we did, gives confidence to the players.

As far a Fleener goes, terrible terrible terrible. The guy is another free agent failure that we decided deserved a big contract. Can't stand the guy, he is nothing special. I will be happy when we can move from him. |

Barnidge would easily "eclipse" Fleener...

I saw what I wanted to see and it is a vast improvement. It was one game and certainly don't drink the cool aid but it was a good sign to see we seemed to have improved in the very areas we needed to.
Next weeks game will be more telling. I want to see how our guys against Watt. If they can hold their own up front on that side of the ball I'll open the pack of cool aid and pull out a glass. Not saying I'll actually turn on the faucet but I'll be thirsty. |
