IIRC, Coach Payton said "he would keep three if he felt the third one was earned". After three seasons, I still don't see the poise and pocket presence from GG. Takes way too long to make a decision....ultimately a sack. Even while he knew he is under duress, he's not making the quick read.

I don't think he sticks this year.

I didn't suggest that Chase would be a good backup at this point. Though Nassib hasn't shown me anything either, frankly. I was saying that he used to be a good backup, but it looks like Andy Reid just about ruined him in his time with the Chiefs.

My point about the 2000 season was toward the crowd who says "who cares about the backup, because we're screwed if Drew goes down". I like to remind those people that all is not lost if you are diligent enough as a franchise to develop a decent enough backup, and your defense is good enough to keep you in it.

Many less talented QB's have won in the playoffs and the SB. It can be done so I don't like the defeatism no Brees attitude. Brooks did it and he was surrounded with much much less talent. Willie Jackson lol! He would not even make this team.

I don't like it either. Every time we have a conversation about the backup around here, there is always a group who shows and says we're stupid for talking about something that "doesn't matter". But those same people will rail on every little thing that happens in preseason.

There's no making sense of things, at times.

If it's working, don't mess with it - as Daniels is not an heir apparent, I'd stayed with Cool Hand Luke...

If not for a couple of dropped passes, McCown played a superb game to beat Carolina in their house...
