We could use an upgrade at TE, but it's not what I'd consider a need as there's a committee of guys who can do it week to week... Cam Jordan, Tyeler Davison, Sheldon Rankins, an injured Okafor, with only Onyemata and Hendrickson in reserve, there we have big needs... Rankins is not producing sacks, and Okafor is coming off of an achilles tendon tear... On the offensive line, the only proven commodity we have as a reserve is a 34yo (in season) Jermon Bushrod, so by that logic, OLine is a need... Should Brees miss the very rare one or two games, we've got, Tom Savage? Maybe SP can work his magic, but there's need... Vonn Bell hasn't really stepped up yet, and if one safety of Williams, Bell, or Coleman is injured, then we've got problems, another need... With Snead gone, we need to find a fifth and possibly fourth wide receiver; Meredith won't be back to regular season, Ginn is 33 yo - definite need... But we don't need to spend an early draft pick on a WR as this is a deep group and our offense is predicated on hands and routes, not blazing speed... |

Well, we may not have a Pro-Bowl level Tight End on the roster, the competition should be pretty d*mn keen this summer...
Ben Watson vs Coby Fleener - at the very least, this may be what Fleener needs to shake the pixie dust out of his eyes... Deon Yelder vs Josh Hill - Hill seemed to get off-track for a while and now we find out if Yelder was legit or a beneficiary of Mike White... Nate Wozniak vs Michael Hoomanawanui - Hoo has stayed healthy only one season, a younger blocking TE could solve the availability issue... |
