Re: Saints among teams planning private workout with Baker Mayfield
No, but why would the Saints choose to move on from him if he looks likely to keep performing as the elite QB that he is for the foreseeable future?
I can see your point if he was struggling and clearly on a major decline, but he just set the NFL record for completion percentage and led the team to what could/should have been another appearance in at leas the NFC championship game. |

Yes, I can see him grooming a new QB, but I cannot see Payton selling out the immediate future to do so. Payton knows that the Saints are in a two to three year window with the dynamic young talent and the next few productive years of his Hall of Fame QB's career. I don't see him throwing away vital picks that could be used for pieces needed today for a future QB that he may very likely never even coach. |

Re: Saints among teams planning private workout with Baker Mayfield
So we sign Brees to a two year deal, spend a bunch of picks to grab this guy and he sits the bench. Ok. Looking forward to seeing him throw his first pass in 2020.

Re: Saints among teams planning private workout with Baker Mayfield
Payton is just building relationships so he can lure him here after his rookie contract is up. We are straight on QB until then.
