And Fleener isn't total crap. He is leaps and bounds above any other option other than Ben Watson and Josh Hill. It would be crazy to throw away dead cap to gamble that one of a few UDFA's could outperform his capability.
Personally, if gambling is in play, I'll put my money on Curtis Johnson coaching Fleener up on the fine art of catching the ball and on Ryan Neilsen coaching him up on being a better outside lineman. We came into this off season a play away from possibly advancing to the Super Bowl given another game. This roster is improved by the off-season. This roster is improved by the 2018 draft. This roster has been improved by the dynamic coaching additions on the defensive side. I have no doubt. 19-0 Baby! ![]() |
