Re: Observations from the Saints first loss in 11 games

Ok, phew! Feels good to get that out!

The good news is that the Saints offense played the worst game of the season, but the defense kept us in it, and in the end, only lost by 3 points.

Refs were terrible on both sides, no excuse for the loss, but it is hard to watch bad calls that stop the flow of the game and no calls that risk player safety.

They showed some footage of the Saints bench before the game, and even then it looked like the energy was very low. I was immediately worried when I saw that. Not sure what that was all about. Maybe back to back Thursday night games?

Our front 7 played lights out!

What was with all the drops? Drew wasn't his usual, pinpoint accurate self, but plenty of balls hit receivers in the hands and just bounced out. Reminded me of A. Brooks at times.

I just hope we don't have any major injuries. The team should bounce back from this and use it as motivation.

yeah its was good to see we still had a fighting chance to win but then a blitz up the middle and a bad pass from Brees... ugh.

I guess the good news is now they have 10 days to get refreshed and stew in this loss to come out with something to prove against Tampa.

Re: Observations from the Saints first loss in 11 games

Before the game there was a piece about Peyton showing the team a 10 minute video on how great Brees is. Not sure that was a bright Idea.

During the game last night it sure looked like the O-line may have taken exception and reminded Peyton that Brees is only as good as they let him be....and that was pretty sad.

So, four games left with three against pretty stout defenses. Somebody needs to come up with a better game plan because Pittsburgh and Carolina are going to wear the Dallas - Saints game video out.

Was telling my wife the same thing last night.....during the game. With all the middle pressure, they never moved the pocket. Didn't seem like the Saints made a single adjustment on offense. Just kept running the same offense....getting the same results.

Ram was getting beat too though and without one of the best left tackles in the game its hard. I agree though they should've tried something different because the middle of our line sucked more than the tackles. I think it was just a off night. We need a mini bye week.

That’s why I don’t understand why we didn’t do anything with Taysom Hill. We didn’t do anything to catch them off guard or keep them guessing.

+1. I'll piggy back and put that into perspective. Saints defense has recorded 13 sacks in 2 games. They were able to hold Zeke in check (3.3 ypc) most of the game. The front 7 continues to be strength for this team & a reason why we'll go far in January.

Offensively, we simply had an off night. It happens. Dallas had to play their best football on both sides and still almost lost. We're fine.

On to Tampa .
