At worst, he's good depth.

I thought it was a little weird when I heard PJ Williams is getting the majority of the first team reps at nickel in training camp. He couldn’t really be slotted ahead of PRob right?

He could be however it's still relatively early.

PRob played some excellent ball up in Philly two seasons ago however he's 32 and coming off a season ending ankle injury.

After the dust settles, it could become Gardner-Johnson's job at the nickle spot.

Even though P-Rob was our highest PFF graded CB prior to his injury, P.J. was ballin' in the slot at the end of the season; Getting that secondary chemistry right in the secondary is Level - Master Chef cookin'...

Gardner will be more of a heavy nickel vs the other two, and after the up and down practice Vonn Bell had today, I think it's safe to say that the plan will be for Gardner to move up when Bell departs via Free Agency...

Totally forgot about Apple for a minute. I think PRob is safe at nickel, I keep hearing he’s having a great camp. Age and injury are probably about the only question mark. Man our defense is going to be on fire this year. I will go ahead and say our D will be top 5 nearly across the board.
We will be dominant at every position group. Even LBr.

Know what we're drafting next season - we're potentially losing as many as three cornerbacks with expiring contracts...

Grayson called the Saints and got his foot in the door. No matter what happens, he has some serious motivation because this is his 3rd attempt trying to make an NFL roster. He seems to be doing enough to make the team. If he has a couple of good returns in PS I think he's a lock. Good Luck!

Simmie Cobbs again with a big play. I just don’t know yet if Cobbs is a practice player or if he can ball when it’s game time too. I want to see him get some first-team reps this preseason.

Sounds like Emmanuel Butler was back at it today and caught everything thrown his way.

It's fine to see Tre making these moves on Crawley  at camp but on Friday night, Teddy hit him in right between the 1 and the 0 and he still dropped the ball. Sometimes I question his concentration and following the ball in (diamond technique) completely.

Easy catch and completion. We cannot have these types of blunders when the season begins.

Damn XVI,

This dude sounds like he is a diamond in the rough.

I cannot wait to see Butler in action next week.

^^^ I asked this during the Vikes game day thread ..

What is up with Keith? Missing a lot of practice and 1st pre season game. If he's not careful, his spot will be taken away (placed back on the practice squad) by one of these young, hungry rookies.

Yep, I missed this as I was expecting to see this camp out of Lil' Jordan, not Butler - Lo and behold, Humphrey showed up game day too...

This should be an interesting race...

Just hope these two don't go the Adrian Arrington/Nick Toon route where they only flash at practice or pre-season and can add, contribute this year with impactful, winning plays...

Humprey and Butler, on paper they lack some metrics but who cares. They are making plays. That Humprey TD was nasty. I don't recall any WR's other than MT playing with that intensity.

Keep that same intensity in those joint practices out in Cali & pre season games Trey :brood:.

Didn’t he have shoulder problems in college?
I’m starting to feel another 7-9 season coming .

Have a source on that one?

If this is in fact true, this could be a mild set back for a position we are solid at ... chronic shoulder injuries dating back to high school on Alex.

At worst, we won't have him back until week 1 vs Texans.
