As a 3rd back?

IIRC Payton was interested in him coming out of LSU.

Yes sir. I think he’d eventually beat out Murray as the 2nd back. I love Jeremy Hill.

Unless there is some "set back" we aren't aware of, I'd be very surprised to see anyone detach Murray for the #2 RB spot.

Especially considering Hill is coming off an ankle injury and more recently a torn ACL (it was pretty gruesome) back in Sept. Not sure if the Saints brass will travel (gamble on a injured player at a skill position) down that road again in 2019.

Just an FYI ...

No practice today. Team is en route to Cali for joint practices on Thursday and Friday vs Chargers.

I don’t think I’ve seen this posted yet... Everybody likes a good Baldy Breakdown!

I LOVE Baldy Breakdowns! And this one especially gets me going. McCoy moves great for such a big guy.

Don't know about that. Murray was pretty impressive v. Minnesota...

He had a run of about four-five yards where he eluded like six defenders...

Haven't seen Hill make that kind of run in the NFL...

Murray is reminding me more and more of Deuce...

He was gashing the Saints just last year before Zimmer stop running the ball.

Many will love Murray and short yardage downs as well. Super tough to bring down.

Any heroics from wonder boy Emmanuel Butler at today's joint practice?

Other highlights from Saints@Chargers Joint Command Practice...

Get some, Taysom - Thrown in perfect slot beyond cornerback, before safety...

Good for him - want to see him go out fighting if he's odd man out...

Jeff Ireland and the Saints made out like thieves in the back-end of this draft...

And now "him" is with the ones; him is showing to be quite the find...

Hope they're this sharp come game-time...

Having been choosing to ignore this information like a little girl walking through the woods with a monster breathing down my neck, but it's all good now...

Don’t like seeing 3 of our most important players battling injuries this early. Thomas, Lattimore, and Kamara would be tough to lose all at once. Same with Anzalone

Just terrible. Sounds like he should be good to go after the first month of the season though. Difficult to decision to IR him and bring him back or carry him on the active roster.

James has the potential to be the best safety in the NFL.

Based on today's tweets, that 5th receiver spot is still up for grabs.

Cobbs, Butler & Humphrey will need a really good showing vs Jets to solidify a roster spot.

Maybe Butler shows up these next two. We have to have these big body WR's to make plays but also block. I would say blocking is more critical. Most of the passes are not going to them anyway.

I even went over to SR hoping to find something. Usually they will post any trash written as long as they have something good to say about the Saints. Nothing. The posters there have really gone downhill and I didn’t think it was possible. One guy didn’t know who Butler was and another lumped Murphy and Kamara in as receivers basically saying we would only keep 3
WR’s.
Never have I seen so many ignorant and casual fans in one place.
I used to be able to find at least 1 or 2 legit articles there but no more.

It will interesting to see what DC Greg Williams dials up in p/s game #3 vs Saints.

Remember in that Jets game last week, they really got after Matt Ryan and that O line. He was sacked a few times.

Going to SR is practically grounds for banning. :p :bng:

But as long as you keep doing your pre-game ritual to give us good luck, you're still part of our family! :p

Thought I post this from yesterday's (8/21/2019) practice ...

Training camp is coming to a close. The Saints practiced in front of fans today and will hold their final session tomorrow morning. After that, the team gets into their regular season mode following Saturday’s preseason contest against the New York Jets. Not seen at Wednesday’s practice were:

WR Ted Ginn Jr.
WR Simmie Cobbs Jr.
OL Marshall Newhouse
DE Mario Edwards Jr.
LB Alex Anzalone
LB Craig Robertson
S Saquan Hampton
CB/RS Marcus Sherels

We have not seen Anzalone or Sherels since the preseason opener; meanwhile Robertson and Edwards both left last preseason contest with undisclosed injuries.

Coach Sean Payton did announce some changes to the roster. Linebacker Will Compton was added along with offensive lineman Fisayo Awolaja. In corresponding moves the team waived long snapper Nick Moore and announced that Chris Clark was placed on injured reserve
.

I don’t think Hampton has practiced since the first preseason game. Is he headed for the ol’ redshirt year?
