But meh...we will see. Some are assuming TB ceiling is not very high. I disagree and believe he is being extremely under valued mainly because he is working with the starters and has the best OL he has ever had. He's going to improve.

If we had another half decent WR or one eventually shows up, no telling what his ceiling could be. We have a serious problem at WR. Probably worse than last year.

And Drew finished 8-8. We all agree 8-8 is not what we need right? Look, I would love for him to prove me wrong but I don't think he has the ability.

Ok. Your comment about God injuring Brees to humble him was funny. This though, sacrilege.

Mods, I implore you, start waiving the Banishment Wand. Put some fear into these willy-nilly posters.

I hope that everyone is aware that each NFL game is essentially a season upon itself. Just because Teddy dinked and dunked for 177 yards out in the rain on an away game against a really tough defense doesn't mean that projects to any game in the future.

I've been rather quiet on this subject. But I have to admit I'm a bit frustrated with all the disappointment with TB. As the backup QB he has 3 jobs:

1. Protect the football.
2. Help the team win games. More importantly don't cause the team to lose games.
3. Keep the team in the season until Brees comes back.

It's not throwing for 4000 yards. Or throwing the ball 50 yards down the field. It's not coming on the field as an all-Pro QB as a backup. And folks seem to be disappointed because they are not getting that with TB. I just don't understand why folks cannot comprehend that if a QB had that skillset, they wouldn't be a backup.

Teddy is a godsend. A former starting QB who is a backup at 26 because of circumstances, not lack of production. There are 32 starting QBs currently in the NFL. Teddy is likely better than 20 of them. And he's our backup:

That is FAR too logical. You should know it doesn't work around here.

We won on Sunday with those 177 yards.

Isn't that the ultimate goal here?

I think people are looking at him more as if he is Brees successor rather than just a backup QB. Some people act like it’s their money when it comes to how much a team pays a player.
If people are expecting to see Brees successor out there and are scrutinizing him as such they may very well be let down. If they are looking at him like a backup QB and take his salary out of the equation then they may well be pleasantly surprised. I think he is somewhere in between.
I see him as a good, safe QB for a team that has an elite defense but not a guy who is going to win a shootout.
