A guy who represents over 60% of our passing attack?

We're screwed.

The key to beating the 49ers is to get the lead and stop their running attack. They dont want Jimmy G having to drop back and throw the ball every play playing catch-up.

He threw 3 straight incomplete passes in OT.

I don't think he's ready for those pressure moments just yet.

Add rams to list of teams we won’t have to worry about in the playoffs. NFC isn’t shaping up so bad.

Nope both. A leader like Brees could have put the squelch on those last plays if he wanted. He just wanted record numbers and points more than what was best for the team. Great way to lose the respect of a bunch of much younger players.

Bullcrap. None of the younger players would have wanted to quit trying. If they had then I don't want their asses on our team. They would actually have more respect for Brees' not wanting to quit. I want my team to do everything they can do to keep scoring. By the way, total points scored is a tiebreaker for playoff seeding, as is total number of touchdowns scored.

I hate that the 9ers have a thread here. But yes, their defense looks pretty good.

I cant wait to play them. We need to clean up some penalties and get healthy.

Yeah I agree. I think our RBs would make things easier. AK and Murray would loosen that pass rush up.

Re: 49ers are scary good

The funny thing is that GB would be killing it if they were running some quick slants. They havent adjusted and its killing them.

Re: 49ers are scary good

I've said all season that you can run on them. I'm not sure why teams aren't doing that. The Packers played right into their strengths. A good running team(which we are when we commit to it) can run all over them. I like the Raven's chances against them. They are going to pummel them with Ingram and LJ . This is going to give the blueprint to everyone on how to beat them. The 49ers are not as good as they look. They have some glaring weaknesses which teams just don't seem to want to take advantage of for some strange reason.

The 35ers are all about the pass rush. They are relentless in that area. So much so, that they get burned by the running game, which leads into your point; and I agree with you.

That defense was built to be fast. You look at the guys along their defensive line, and they aren't very big. Tall, but not particularly big. Cam Jordan gets his 12 sacks a year, or so, but he's almost built like a defensive tackle, and so he can set the edge and overpower his opponent in the run game, whereas guys like Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead ... Not so much. They just bull rush all game. And they are fantastic at doing that but, as you were saying, if you commit to the run against them, they have a problem.

Kyler Murray hasn't been real impressive this year, but just the fact that he CAN run seemed to throw off the 74ers, and they struggled in BOTH games against the same Cardinals team that the Saints blew out. So yeah, I hope Sean Payton is paying attention, and doesn't have another crappy game plan like he had against the Falcons. Speaking of which, I hope he has a better game plan for that same team, since they are coming up in three days.

It’s the best I’ve seen the defense in the 3 games I’ve seen them . They seem to play better at home on de. But on the road after a couple of series they seem to spent there gun powder and come back to earth . Be it the cross country trip to the dome it won’t matter I believe the BnG wins big. No matter what happens in clownville. Which will be a beat down of utter proportion

Re: 49ers are scary good

Good defenses and a solid running game travels regardless of where the game is played. The Niners are a ferocious bunch up front on D.

I don't believe in Jimmy G however they are a very good team in all phases.

jeanpierre 11-25-2019 08:18 AM

Re: 49ers are scary good

Like our matchups vs the 49ers...

Ryan Ramczyk vs Nick Bosa/Dee Ford

Terron Armstead (period-free) vs Arik Armstead/Solomon Thomas

Erik McCoy/Nick Easton vs DeForest Buckner

Mike Thomas vs Richard Sherman/Ahkello Witherspoon

Alvin Kamara vs Fred Warner

Only one I see giving us problems is TE George Kittle vs DeMario Davis/Vonn Bell and it's not like we're at a real disadvantage, especially with Kittle hobbled...

The real worry is Sean Payton having another mental lapse in a big game; and he's having more of them lately as well as getting predictable in his play-calling and his reluctance to power-run when needed...

Might be time to switch up and let Pete Carmichael call for a while and then pull a Rocky II and switch up and go back to SouthPaw to keep them off-balance...

We will have 10 days off to prepare for there missles good luck on trying to corral Z28 and MT and a dose of Murray . Brees is the quickest gun in the league so stop that. I don’t understand why so much scary good BS y’all pass around. And ur rite there good on one side of the ball , but wrong in the all phases like u say garopopolo won’t win a SB ever his de might

I don't know about "ya'll" but believe it or not, the Niners are a stout group defensively + they are relatively healthy.

Week to week league however are playing some championship level football right now.

I went back and looked at there schedule they have quality wins. Browns ,bengals , bucks ,Steelers Washington dallas cardinals twice and a loss at home to Seattle how can u lose to Seattle at home. They did spank the panthers .and a they were what I thought they were packers. Just poking pun at them not u K- man

Re: 49ers are scary good

49ers are a good team, but maybe..just maybe the packers are not as good as advertised. I persoanlly feel the 49ers did us a favor last night. They still have an incredibly stiff remaining schedule and if there is one place I don't want us to play in January it is Green Bay. BTW- Watch out for the Vikes. GB is likely to be the WC and the 49ers will get the other. The one seed will be between us, Vikings, and Seachickens.

SaintsBro 11-26-2019 03:31 PM

Re: 49ers are scary good

Will say this about the 49ers...they looked pretty darn good against Green Bay. And if Fox gives us Tampa Bay @ Jacksonville on TV here in New Orleans on Sunday, instead of Ravens/49ers, I will be pissed!

st thomas 11-27-2019 08:23 AM

Re: 49ers are scary good

The packers are mediocre and a couple of flags the other way they would be 6-5 . When Rogers didn’t throw a td against the panthers at home it confirmed it for me. His last 3 games chargers 161 yds, 1 td panthers ,233 -0- tds 49ers ,104 yds -1 td Thee Arron Rogers?

Question for the forum...

Are the Packers really mediocre or did the 49ers make them appear to play that way last week with that stifling front 7?

IMO the Pack are a very good team. Bad match up against the Niners.

They've (Pack) beaten some really good playoff contending teams this year but I think the 49ers are a notch better ... specifically on D and in the run game.

The last thing I want to see in a playoff scenario is having to travel up to Green Bay in late January in those elements.

Some people don’t weight this in but 2,228 miles from Green Bay , Wis.may have helped 9ers dispose on the green monkey

If we can harry Jimmy G, he will make mistakes. As long as our run defense holds to form I think we'll be OK.

Re: 49ers are scary good

Watching the 49ers-Ravens game and we can have a lot of success against their defense with Taysom Hill. The read option and designed QB runs will be our friend.

Just a side observation ...

Where the hell are the holding/hands to the face calls on either side in this game (Ravens/49ers) ?

Interesting.

Re: 49ers are scary good

Shut down the outside run has to be the priority.
Keep them inside and the D Line will slow them. A big dose of Murray and Kamara, there Defensive not looking nearly as good when kept on the field.

So keep the 3 and outs to a minimum
Run the damn ball enough

Keep the outside runs to a minimum

San Fran got a bogus no call on an obvious PI

No holding calls but there is some mauling out there

The league wants SF
And just wait till they ref our game
