Re: 49ers are scary good
I think with Ramczyk people in the media stopping mentioning him because he consistently does what he did to elite defenders like Watt week in week out. Bottom line, it’s not sexy to talk about offense linemen.
Look back at the Falcon loss, probably the worst our line has played all season. But Ram still held his own. This week will be another test for our line, which Drew helped them pass with flying colors Thursday. The only reason all the doubts keep coming at this Saints team is because we’re not blowing people out. We haven’t run up the score on teams because of blunders on our part. We’ve only been outplayed once this season and that was at home against the Falcons. Take last week for example. 1. Eli,PI when the receiver had already ran out of bounds. No need to push him out again. 2. Eli, PI on long pass. If he turns his head, easy pick. 3. Cam, block in the back on Shy’s INT. Shy scores if Cam gets in the way of Freeman instead. 4. Cook dropped TD in endzone 5. Cook, lack of effort on long pass from Brees that went off his fingertips. TD 6. All the penalties 7. To cap it off, the recovery of those onside kicks.( that’s 3 this year) |
Re: 49ers are scary good
No doubt it will be won in the trenches . Seattle out muscled there speed in the end.

Re: 49ers are scary good
i could see a larger role for Murrey this week, sadly been thinking that every week Kamara has played and still haven't seen it. This is the week to use the two running backs to keep pressure off of Drew and to have the 49ers defensive line not be able to pin their ears back and only have to rush the qb

Re: 49ers are scary good
Footnote on the Niners ...
Emmanuel Sanders went 7 / 157 & 1 TD vs Saints. He hurt us bad. Imagine if this guy had ended up (trade) with us along with Brees/Thomas and Cook. |
Re: 49ers are scary good
Still early in the game tonight (21-10) but the Rams are giving the Niners the business out in Levi Stadium.
Maybe the Saints offense cracked the code on the "scary" Niner defense. Goff and that offense has gone up and down the field on them thus far. |
Re: 49ers are scary good
You know... when the Rams have to cut WR Robert Woods this off-season because they have no cap space, he would look good in the black and gold.

Jimmy sucks. Goff sucks. California sucks. Saintfan hates that he is emotionally involved in either of these teams, even pulling hard against one of them. Boo West Coast. BOOOOOOOO

Re: 49ers are scary good
Rams have like 8 weapons on offense take away a goffs inconsistent asre it’s unbelievable what drew does with 1.5 weapons

Re: 49ers are scary good
The statistician of tonight's game beat me to it but last few weeks the Niners defense has been getting lit up.
Keep an eye on that come playoffs. One bad game, it's over for them. |

Would anyone really mind san fran as the 1 seed? Anyone but green bay...but san fran..so what. They're the most beatable team at home

Re: 49ers are scary good
Way to choke on two 3rd and 16's on the last drive, Rams.
|
Re: 49ers are scary good
The Rams have been eliminated from playoff contention. Good, **** them. Here’s the best part: The Rams will have over 60% of their cap dedicated to 5 players for the next 4 years and don't have a 1st round pick until 2022.

Re: 49ers are scary good
Rams won total yards, turnover battle & time of possession ..
Still lost . |

Jimmy G is a going to be Great.

Re: 49ers are scary good
I thought the Rams were going to give us a gift, like the Falcons did the previous week, but they just couldn’t hold on.

Re: 49ers are scary good
Bump ...
Just watching the Niners on their last scoring drive in the 3rd quarter vs Vikes. They didn't throw the ball not once enroute to scoring a TD. RUN CONTROL, eat up clock and ground and pound. That's playoff caliber & winning football. As a Saints fan, this is hard to watch when we could have easily done that last Saturday. I'm not sure why that doesn't register with Sean Payton. Frustrating. |

Thats cause SP tries to outsmart everyone instead of doing what is needed to beat teams. And on the defensive side they have shut down Cook and made them one dimensional. |
Re: 49ers are scary good
Just makes us look even worse, with what the 9ers are doing to Minnesota at the minute.
They've committed to stopping Cook and daring Cousins to beat them, whereas we let Cook run all over us, which in turn gave Cousins way too much time. Vikings just muffed a punt too, implosion is real. |
Re: 49ers are scary good

Meanwhile Kurt Cousins is looking like Kurt Cousins. San Fran is one quarter away from hosting the NFCCG at home and a trip to the Super Bowl . Remember this same team was 4-12 last season and couldn't get out of their own way. Good coaching, got rid of under performing players and brought in proven vets (Sherman, Emmanuel Sanders) with pedigree. Frustrating. |

That and they have four high first rounders on that d-line too. Imma be real with you, K. If GB wins Sunday I gotta go with the 9ers. I can't stand that dick Rodgers. |
Re: 49ers are scary good
Shanahan has owned us for years. His offense destroyed us in Atlanta in 2016 and I'm pretty sure before that, he carved us up in Washington. No matter what your opinion of him is, he uses Dennis Allen's defenses as a punching bag.
I cannot believe so many people thought we could go into San Fran and repeat the same performance on them we put up on the dome. I got so tired of hearing from people "but we scored 40 points on the Niners!" yeah and WE LOST. First game in franchise history we lost scoring 45 or more points. IMO if we got a rematch with SF in the playoffs this year, they would most likely blow us out. I'm really not surprised to see Kirk Cousins go back to being Kirk Cousins. We make the most mediocre crap tier QBs look like Pro Bowlers before they stink it up the next week. That's why you guys need to stop blaming the refs and start holding Payton and Dennis Allen accountable. If you're paying attention to this game; notice that the 49ers called 12 consecutive run plays, and are constantly attacking Minnesota up the middle. They are also taking advantage of mismatches in the secondary. We did neither. We ran the ball a total of 17 times, refused to roll with Murray and Hill when they got hot, and we didn't take advantage of their weak spots in the secondary, yet we sit around and blame the refs on a tick-tacky call... that's us. |
Re: 49ers are scary good
One simple thing I've noticed in today's game ...
Niners doubled Theilan, linebacker (I think it's Kwon A) covering Rudolph & Diggs getting handled one on one. This is why I'll never be a Dennis Allen fan. Niners Def Coordinator calling a great game plan and removing any "threats" at WR. Coaching matters. |

I always thought Shanahan had our number as well especially in Atlanta. And I’ve been on the we need to get rid of Allen train when he had came back. He average at best but mostly below average. But what gets me is with other d coordinators we’ve had if the d was sucking Payton was chewing that guy’s arse out but he doesn't do that with Allen and it pisses me off. |
Re: 49ers are scary good

I went and read on a 49ers forum this past week and their fans were utterly shocked that Payton didn't take advantage of the mismatches in the Vikings secondary, or bother attacking them by running up the middle. We see Shanahan doing it. They ran 12 consecutive run plays, and they've taken advantage of the mismatches by utilizing speed. Hell when the 49ers played us, they took advantage of our weak secondary and showed we could be broken down with big plays. People criticize Shanahan, but he has a long track record of using Dennis Allen's defenses as a punching bag. Thielen tore us up for 127 yards on just 7 catches. While everyone wastes their breath on the tick-tacky non-call, I want to know where the hell was the safety on the bomb pass Thielan caught before that? No where to be seen. |
Re: 49ers are scary good

I've seemed to catch the most hell from our fan base for suggesting that Wade Phillips would've been a better hire than Allen in 2016. The retort is usually "his L.A. defenses were disappointing!" OK fair, the Rams defenses haven't been dominant like some of his past defenses BUT in what way are Allen's defenses any better??? The defense wasn't even that bad last week in the playoffs. It all comes down to situational football and the little key decisions. Allen has had 4 years to figure out a 2 minute defense and still hasn't done it. That's how you get the big plays like Diggs' hail mary catch in 2017 and Thielen's bomb last week. Sad thing is, we're going to be stuck with Allen cause he's one of Payton's buddies. He's not going to hire an outsider again. |

But yeah agreed about DA, he is Paytons "Yes Man" - that's why you dont see Payton going ballistic at him like he did with Ryan and Gregg. The game we played was lost before it even began because of the lackluster gameplan the coaches put out there. |
Re: 49ers are scary good
Mike chiming in...
I know we’re supposed to love this sort of thing from our own players and hypocritically hate it from another team’s player... but Mike’s kind of a b**** on social media. |
Re: 49ers are scary good

I agree and I understand your criticism of Marcus Williams, but it also falls on Allen. Williams and Eli Apple were 2 of the biggest weaknesses in the secondary this year. I have long been saying Apple was a problem cause he's a penalty magnet with drawing blatant pass interference calls. We had a very undisciplined team this past year when it came to penalties and I think Apple ranked #1 for most of the year in drawing PI calls. |
Re: 49ers are scary good
Niners linebackers are so fast. Cook isn't breaking away from no one in the open field. Where is Rudolph or Thielan?
Diggs went deep ... double safety help, guess what ball popped out. Niners Def Coordinator - A+ today. Dennis Allen doesn't coach like that. |
