drew is also one of the least sacked qb, if the oline didn't decide to take the 1st failclowns and the minny games off and the defense would have kept the whiners under 40, that would be 3 more wins, and yes if 2 of those would have occurred we wouldn't have even played minny

If you listen to some members, they think we need to get rid of Drew Brees and get a black QB.

When it comes to Brees for 2020... We can still crack that whip with Brees.
Sean Payton and most of us still see this for 2020...

That ain't just Cool Whip.

Re: Is Drew Brees holding the saints hostage?

Maybe we are unlikely to win it all in 2020 with Brees but maybe that could be a good thing. Instead of trying to win now we could invest in the future. Trade back in the draft, stockpile picks, let older players walk, get compensation draft picks, draft for talent not immediate need, spare the salary cap now to creat future flexibility rather than pushing dead cap forward, and let Brees records and legend sell tickets while we rebuild without shame.

If we trade our first rounder this year for future picks, and we have 2 1st round, 2nd round, and 2 3rd round in 2021, it puts us in a good position to replace Brees with Lawrence not some 30 year old with a scary injury history.

Re: Is Drew Brees holding the saints hostage?

The financial situation with Brees is what it is - it serves us and him best to bring him back for next season. But being held hostage is a negative way to think of it.

At QB we need to bring back Brees and Taysom and just refine our schemes. Make things a bit simpler and more effective. And it sure would help IMO to mix in some up-tempo stuff. But the offense clearly needs more suitable pieces. We actually should consider going 100% offense in the draft - OG, WR, TE, RB, FB are all needs to a certain extent. Who those exact pieces are, it's tough to say. If it were left to me I'd be tempted to draft WR's Duvernay and Tyler Johnson - guys that are much more than just young burners. JK Dobbins and Clyde E-H at RB, two tough mo'fo's so we never run out of good RB's like San Fran. An athletic sleeper TE that causes matchup problems like Jonnu Smith from the Titans would really help. FB will probably be a rookie free agent but we will have to scout and do our homework to find the right guy. We need to wear teams down with the running game and possession passing.

We may have to let more of our free agents walk than is normally comfortable. But who cares? We have to think long-term too. If we need to move a defensive vet or two, even someone like Cam Jordan or Demario Davis and get more draft picks, might have to pull the trigger because the draft is just so balls deep with talent this year.

Plus+One! Loomis gets his orders from Payton, and Sean is borrowing against the future, over-budget now, like most politicians...

Payton could give two f*cks about the next three years and when it catches up to the Saints, Payton will leave for greener pastures...

But in no way is this on Brees, nor is he keeping the team hostage; for what he brings the team in quarterback play and leadership - we've got a deal...

Re: Is Drew Brees holding the saints hostage?

If we had epic lines he can totally stay. We do not. The trend right now is a QB than can and will run with authority. Specific plays designed for those runs.

Brees, no designed runs and that is a problem. Can't just dink and dunk all day. It really hurt us this go. No ability to create something out of nothing.

We have to put in another guy to throw long which alerts the common 12 year old fan to defend either a bomb or a qb sweep. They will be ready for it next season. Come next season my expectations are minuscule . Because I’m done getting burnt by the eye candy.

Very interesting. You are on a football website where there are 99.97% men and other men's "pussies" are on your mind... <---- This statement has as much to do with our last three seasons as your assumptions in your quoted post.

You are angry and frustrated, we all are, but throwing sh1t at a wall to see what sticks isn't going to change anything or quench your anger. Throwing **** at a wall to see what sticks is what Sean Payton seems to do some times, not foot steps you want to follow in is it?

Read your post back to your self and tell me who's is burning.

Get some air, play with your kids (or someone else's if you don't have any)
