Those of us that endured watching a losing team season after season and seeing people in the stands with bags on their heads at games know how special Brees is to this team. (Don't get me started on any QB with Billy Joe for a name).
Think of how Bengals and Browns fans feel. They're miserable and desparate just for a winning season. I don't miss that feeling.

I don't do too many "back in my day" rants because they make me feel old but I'm guessing that this is primarily an old-timers vs. young-uns debate.

Well here's the thing.

The older you get, the more you experience, and the more you know.
You dont get dumber with age.

I know YOU know this, Ice Ice Baby, but many young'uns dont.
In the immortal words of Jim Mora, "You dont know. You THINK You know.
But you dont. Know."

QB is 70% mind. 20% arm. 10% legs. If you're doing it right.

Drew Brees is the greatest QB we've ever had. His age means nothing, and if anything he's smarter.

and Furthermore, DREW !

Well said been a fan in the stands since 1967 ... starting with the first game in Tulane Stadium. Missed some years during my military career but Pops always had season tickets and I usually made at least one game a year. Remember listening to the Hap Glaudi show and then the Buddy D show on that long ride back to Lafayette.

Never listen to Bobby because the Atlanta betrayal was to much for my Pops and most Saints Fans to overcome. Pops could never forgive a Cajun doing that to all us Cajun fans and in memory to my Pops I carry on.

But my Gwaud those were the longest drives back to Lafayette after the games listening to the post mortem and all the suffering saints faithful venting.

Think Drew and Coach still have what it takes and trust Mickey Coach Terry Fontenot and Jeff Ireland will do what’s need to put Drew and the organization in the best position possible to win it all.

WhoDat!, WW. Its good to hear from you. You're a Gold Star member, far as I'm concerned.

I used to be in that Caravan back down I-10 after the Saints games, except after you exited to Lafayette, I had a few more miles to Houston. 100 different kinds of heartbreak from the Old Days, thought I dont go back as far as you.

I understand your view, but I would invite you to bury the hatchet with Bobby Hebert. I never felt like he did the Atlanta move to US, but rather to the club's front office. Remember, they had numerous salary, terms disputes. Morten did the same thing, and we forgave him, right? I think Bobby has proven his love for La & the Saints, at the risk of his press box credentials. Plus he wore the dress for Buddy D.

Either way, I aint mad at ya, and WHODAT, Brother.

he won’t be cheap but that’s the price of being competitive which is something I’ll take every season. Who really is out there that would of given the team a better chance to win now besides him?

Re: Drew Is Coming Back For The 2020 Season

2020 season .. all eyes on the coaching staff.

Passing the ball 40+ times with an aging QB is a recipe for an L.

More balance, wearing defenses out late with the run game will become paramount and it helps your defense stay fresh.

Free Agency (G, WR) and the upcoming draft will be key.

And the key to that is getting the lead.

That was what Payton did with Bridgewater under center.

As soon as Brees came back, the balance went out the window and padding those stats and chasing the all time TD record was more important.

The writing is on the wall. Everyone knows how this is going to end come playoff time.
