Re: Forecast: Drew Brees’ return is really good news, here’s why
All this "Taysom HIll is 32!!" (All the while forgetting the starting QB is 41!!)
No! he He turns 30 August 23 2020 Born: August 23, 1990 (age 29 years), Pocatello, ID YOU THINK YOU KNOW BUT IN REALITY YOU DON"T KNOW Take Steve Young for example In the two seasons with Tampa Bay, Young had a .533 completion rate, throwing 11 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.(OH THE HORROR!!) In 1987 Young was traded to the San Francisco 49ers, where he worked as a backup to future NFL Hall of Famer Joe Montana. When an elbow injury sidelined Montana in 1991, Young became the starting quarterback for the 49ers. From 1991 to 1994, Young led the NFL in passing, earning league most valuable player (MVP) honours in 1992 and 1994. He finished the 1994 season with a 112.8 passer rating, a mark he achieved on a scale where 100 was meant to be the realistic maximum. He also led the league in yards per pass attempt, averaging a gain of 8.7 yards every time he released the ball. He capped this extraordinary run by leading the 49ers to victory over the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX in 1995. Young threw a record-setting six touchdowns in a 24-for-36 performance that earned him recognition as the game’s MVP. |

Re: Forecast: Drew Brees’ return is really good news, here’s why
Just let it play out. Brees is our guy for the next year at least. Assuming Hill is our starting Qb once Brees retires we will give him two years to prove he’s the guy. If he is getting it done great, if not there will be other options out that aren’t even on our radar or in the league right now.
We will likely have a down year or two at least after Brees and at some point we will need to rebuild. Not there yet though. Hill is a safer gamble than anyone we can get in the draft at our current position without having to give away the farm to move up. I do believe we will get a developmental Qb in the draft anyway . |

I personally think that drafting development QB is not the move to make this year if we are all in. Get an many players that you can to help this year be a championship year. We dont do a good job of drafting QBs and they just end up leaving with no compensation.

We will be lucky to ever find another Qb who can play anywhere near that level for more than 5-6 seasons at best, especially now that everyone is looking for mobile Qb’s.
