Montgomery really only had one bad receiving year and that was when he played for Baltimore. His catch % was 62.5 that season. The team rate was only 60%. In his first season before he played RB he had a 78.9% rate. That's very good. I think it would be hard to say he has "poor hands." |

According to ProFootball Reference, since joining the league, he's not even in the top 200 on catch rate for RBs... That was the point I was making about his position designation; and one of the pluses of his addition to the roster is that he'd been a solid return guy except for one gaffe Packers fans couldn't forget... |

I was under the impression he switched to RB because Eddie Lacey and James Starks got injured and they were desperate. Randall Cobb was even lining up in the backfield at times.
