That's some real care about your fellow Americans there - let them die, heck, they are old or infirm, etc., so who cares about them. Don't bring in your military service to somehow make me or someone else feel like it is wrong to say your idea is disgusting because you are in the military - so was my Daddy and step-dad and a ton of other people in my family and it still didn't make them right all the time and the same is true here. We ought to have enough respect for our neighbors to respect their right to life.
Good gracious in WWII we were asked to make serious sacrifices. All we are asked here is to stay at home for 6-8 weeks and we can't even do that. Complaining because we have to stay home. The whining of Americans these days is crazy. Wasting time watching stupid Netflix and letting kids play on stupid social media instead of productively learning and using the time wisely - I never wonder why Louisiana and Mississippi are nearly always last in education. |

You have a lot to read about when it comes to economics, if you don't understand the far reaching effects that can have on society. Also, you lack perspective of all of the far greater dangers we face on a daily basis, from other viruses, and just every day activities, like getting in your car and driving down the highway... without shutting down the world. This sort of thing sets a dangerous precedent for how little it might take for the states to shut things down again, in the future. If you call that "whining", I think your definition of that word needs some work. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Oh dear ****ing Lord, some of you need to learn to read, it’s an essential skill when one wishes to communicate at an adult level.
NO WHERE did I say anything about people dying or culling or that I wanted anyone to die or become infected with a virus. Not one fu3king place. TheDude asked if he was the only one that thought something, I told him “no he wasn’t”... I’ve heard that from more than one person. Because of that, I get veiled threats? These boards have gone to ****. |

Maybe these folks agree that culling the herd is the answer would rather wait a couple of decades until they are up there in age. They might look at things differently.
And if this is about the money and cost of caring for the elderly then how about not giving out huge bonuses to Corporations CEO's? Or maybe we eliminate the tax write offs for corporations. Here is another thought. If such a large chunk of our money goes to defense spending then cut it back to a more manageable number. The corporations that get these contracts make billions and get tax write offs as well. We have the money to take care of every American. Now we just need to get the corporate loving lawmakers out of office. Here's another thought. America first. We give away billions in aid every year while we have a homeless problem at home. Just sayin'. The money is there! Rant over! |

Re: Louisiana issues statewide stay-at-home order to combat coronavirus spread
I stand by what I said but maybe using the word “culling” was in poor taste. I have a sick sense of humor.
I do wonder if letting this thing run its course would be better in the long run but it doesn’t mean I want people to die. The decision has been made to do what is being done now and while I don’t agree with it I am adhering to it and doing everything I can to prevent the spread. I wear gloves, sanitize, social distance, and my wife and I stay away from our families. One thing is for sure, life will never be the same. |
