There is no telling how long Marshmallow Peat will be out. He's just as injury prone as Armstead and another season full of excuses on why he continues to be the weakest link on the O line.

Worford quit football. He'd be no use to us in 2020. Besides, you want to talk about marshmallow... Warford's abilities to get out on screens and pass protect (see 2019 Vikings playoff loss) became too much to stomach paying for.

I'm one of the ones who defended Peat (so I'll stand up now). I hate to see this because I believe the kid has way more upside of the two (vs. Warford).

Just hope it's precautionary and he's back this week.

Fowler is good. Sneaky pick up.

Peat's have been for the most part "wrong place at the wrong time" broken bones. I'd much rather have that than joint or soft tissue issues such as hamstrings. That make four separate bone break incidents in four different areas. That not a pattern, but bum luck instead.

Looks like offensive line already giving up on Brees. Bet Winston is our Qb by week 4.

Or there's a calcium issue or some other malady Ochsner is overlooking...again...When building teams, picking players, durability needs to be a box you can check...

Until he showed up out-of-shape at Yuhman for the Training Camp Open House, I'd been solidly in Peat's corner, especially for playing hurt vs Mr. Glass...

But Nick Underhill said he looked great, and definitely appreciated his contract (wanted to reinforce the trust) and showed up ready to go - so that was good enough for me...

Yes, it's bad luck, but if he keeps breaking things, Saints are gonna have to keep insurance policies like Nick Easton, Will Clapp, and James Hurst (4 Gm Suspension) and look elsewhere to clip salaries to extend others...

Bad luck huh?

Andrus is only 3 years younger than Terron and has been just as injury prone ... neither of which have ever played 16-games over the course of their career. Last year Peat missed 6 games with a broken arm. Before that it was a another broken hand/ankle sprain & concussion, not to mention he's broken his leg (2018) before .

Again, if TA is Mr. Glass, what is Peat?

It's too bad Brandon Scherff (he's a dawg/regularly wins his matchups) got the franchise tag & Joe Thuney (hasn't missed a game in 4 years) weren't options this off season.

If I was in the front office, there would have been no way I'd commit good coin to an often injured player on the O line.

Definitely keeping an eye on him. Bennie had more catches than Trequan in only 8 games of work.

Deuce Windham did a breakdown on him the other night ... there are a lot of positives on him. He's fast, runs very good routes and can separate (see his work vs Patrick Peterson last season).

I think he'll compete well with Jordan H., pre season legend E Butler and one of the rookies for a roster spot.

After Thomas and Sanders, no WR is safe in my opinion. That includes Tre'quan Smith too.

Broken bones are not chronic conditions like knees, ankles, ligaments, tendons, hamstrings, concussions, etc. Early in Gronk's career he had a run of broken bones and never had an issue with them later.

Ironically, Joe Thuney was taken with a pick the Saints traded away...

Was watching episode 2 of Hard Knocks last night and they had Derwin Williams (year 2 safety) mic'd up. He loves contact, dish out snot bubbles and make you pay coming across the middle of the field. Only 2 seasons under his belt and is already a form tackler.

Go low, head up, wrap up.

It couldn't hurt, though, right? Look for the positives.

By the way ... calling it now... Saints go ... you know ... and all the haters start in with the Ronagate crap.

Doesn't matter to me what they think about Lombardi Deux!

19-0 Baby!

:bng:

I'm a bit more reserved. I realized though today after hearing another round of "Brady blah blah blah this." and "Brady Tampa six rings that." and all that noise that it's critical for the Saints to go 1-0 and punch both the Bucs and the national media right in the face.

In fact I'm calling it. The Saints will be up so much in the 4th quarter on September 13th that Payton is going to send Winston in for cleanup. The dude is going throw two more TDs and send the Yuccs running home with their tail between their legs. Think 2009 Saints/Patriots in terms of the beatdown.
