Great thing about Onyemata is his versatility and, yes, he'd make a great 1-tech...

Considering our injury history, I'd like to have that extra defensive lineman, but I really didn't see any gain with Malcolm Brown, considering what we paid...

Still fell we let the better player leave, for less money, in Tyeler Davison, who signed $12mil/3yrs vs Brown's $15mil/3yrs...

But Rankins' durability is just not a reliable quantity and this team is too close now to take that risk, and Onyemata is effectively taking on double-team, collapsing the pocket, Brown and Tuttle need to do their job...

That's the advantage of only drafting four players. The Vikings are in horrible shape with 15 drafted players. From every indication, however, Ruiz is really picking things up fast. His intelligence was one of the things that got him selected. He called all defensive alignments from his center position over his final two years and according to his coach he was correct on over 99% of those calls. That was one of McCoy's issues with the Saints this past season. I have a feeling Ruiz will end up with the center job before things are over. Although, I'll be happy with the two of them in those two spots in whichever order.

Yet, you are correct, there are very few, if any, teams in the league with more continuity than the Saints and that's what makes them the team to beat.

Bennie Fowler and Jameis both had good practices today.

Give me immediate gratification....as long as it's Saints football. No. I don't want to wait for any news. Give it to me now! I'm like a little kid in a candy store or even me in a cannibas store. :beatnik:

I want a cannabis store. I do, however, buy my CBD from Cajun Cannabis here in Bossier.

Anyone have a tweet on the Baun injury from today?

Gotta hope it's not serious.

It's beginning to look like Ruiz will be winning that starting center job after all. Taking the defensive read responsibilities off his shoulders should improve what was already a more than solid Erik McCoy. This would be the ideal alignment.

Often, the issue is the coaches just making sure the player gets the opportunities...

What’s up with our LB’s. We are having horrible luck when it comes to injury at that position. Hope it’s nothing serious.
LB is the new Safety.

Whatcha' talking about? Alonzo should be back before long and other that we've got all of our LB's. If you are referring to Baun he tweaked a hammy a bit but walked off the field with no problem and according to the reporter should be fine. They obviously felt good enough about depth at the position that they released a LB, Bradham.

He's probably talking about the last four (4) seasons, we've seen a rash of injuries at that position, more so, than any other group...

Don't think we've had all three of our starters play more than three games in a row in nearly five years...

Okay. Got it. Hopefully we've gotten past that. And we've got the best depth there we've had in decades.

Looking like we found our slot wr and PT RB on 3rd downs all in one player...

Keep seeing and hearing Montgomery/Troutman names popping up. Might wind up being two of the most underrated moves of the offseason.

Well, wouldn't call Adam Trautman underrated, as it was expensive (four draft picks) to acquire the third rounder to take him; still can't believe teams passed on him that long...

You can roll back the consequences of the two previous drafts overspending, and we could have taken all our draft picks this season with our originally slotted picks...

Nonetheless, it was done, and both Baun and Trautman will play huge roles for us this year and should quickly become fan favorites...

The Montgomery pick basically got us a Willie Snead/Pierre Thomas (okay, I'm exaggerating, slightly) in one player, and he'll be that third/fourth option that will break team's backs, reduce their will...

Y'all, I don't like seeing anyone hurt (except maybe opposing QBs, slightly), but the silver lining while Hill is on ice, Trautman is getting more work development, and Dan Campbell looks like he's earning his check...

That's not good for a guy named Trequan Smith who many considered to be the #3 WR (behind Mike and ES) before the Ty signing.

Don't care what kind of lip service Payton is paying Tre'quan, proof is in the targets, production and Smith, as of this time is, at best, the WR5, and with our TE and RB crew, puts him as the 8th option...

Yep.

Was watching some highlights of the Steelers vs Niner game of last year. I consistently saw Pitt WR make plays & create separation against a fast defense ... Diontae Johnson (was a 3rd rd rookie in 2019). I had to go look at his stats ... 59 rec / 680 yards 5 tds all with a back up QB throwing him the ball. IDK, I guess the Steelers simply have an eye for wide receivers.

I think 2020 will either make or break Tre'. Competition for targets will be fierce this season.
