I do know that they require obtaining from vigorous activities for a short period (a day or two at least) following the procedure ... and for some of the worried few out there, the last I heard was they do not lead to being traded. ![]()

Agreed, they aren’t uncommon in many different industries. And no, the procedure isn’t related to being traded, but injuries behind them are extremely common to being traded. There wouldn’t be a procedure if there wasn’t a reason for that procedure.

That reason isn't required to be chronic in nature, either. Yes, in many cases it is administered due to chronic conditions, but "one off" applications are used to treat minor disc herniation, for example, which is usually temporary. It appears that is the most common condition for which athletes receive the ESI, at least according to Mr. Google.

My late stepson got hooked on pharmaceuticals for a work related back injury 15 plus years ago. There is more in place now to prevent abuses. Sad and tough thing is he had to take the very same meds he got hooked on when he got cancer at a way too young of an age.
