Guido - on point.

Yeah I don't think he is the problem at all. Over the years they have issues with the D or the line or this or that never gets it all together but what ATL doesn't have is a QB problem.

If anything else they have a Saints problem who owns them

Offensive line trash, but that city doesn’t believe in Matt Ryan.

Re: Smart Play by Calvin Ridley

Is overthecap website wrong? They indicate Ryan's cap number for 2021 is 41 million if the Falcons keep him, making the scary $50 million number actually only an addition $9 million cost. And thats for a pre-June 1 cut, a clean break from the worst contract in the league. It says a post June 1 cut actually saves them $17 million (no way Ryan is worth 17 million with his playoff history) and a post June 1 trade saves them 21 million. Meanwhile a pre-June 1 trade costs them 3.5 million but potentially brings back a player or draft pick who saves them 3.5 million elsewhere. Nick Mullens could be deadly in the playoffs with their receivers. If I was the Falcons I would definitely move on under these numbers.

In 2022 a 7.5 million roster bonus is due to Matt Ryan on March 11 and his cap hit that year is almost 42 million and they can save >15 million by cutting or trading him and taking the 25 million cap hit instead. If Matt Ryan is still a Falcon on March 12 2022, Arthur Blank, is, well, Arthur Blank.

Re: Smart Play by Calvin Ridley

In Matt Ryan's playoff career he has had a Cardinal problem, a Packer Problem, a Giant problem, a 49er problem, a Patriot problem, and an Eagle problem.

Matt Ryan's second half performances in his playoff losses are insane. His offenses have been shut out in the second half of his last 4 playoff losses. His last 3 they led at the half and collapsed. He has been shut out in the 3rd quarter of all 6 playoff losses. His last second half playoff score in those 6 losses was a pass to Roddy White in 2011. Excluding two passes to Roddy White, Matt Ryan's offenses have never scored in the second half of his playoff finales. His split of 1st Half vs 2nd Half scoring in his playoff losses is 95-14. There have been different coaches, receivers, oline, dline, the common factor is Matt Ryan. He chokes. He is the core problem. His proponents can't get past his regular season performances and look at what is stopping him in the playoffs.

He's just not a difference maker. Players know it. Fans know it. His MVP trophy should have Kyle Shanahan in parenthesis.

That article is actually pretty good. They make a good point that we would hate CGJ if he was on another team. Nice to see one of our players getting under someone's skin for a change.

Calvin Ridley can now include a blocked hail Mary pass to his resume.

I doubt there was anything strategic about the move, Ceedy has proven he can get under just about anyone's skin. Punk took a cheap shot knowing he'd probably get away with it, and he did.
