Eagles punt.
Saints TD.
Eagles punt.
Saints TD

CJG gets a big stop on 3rd and 5 regardless if it was intercepted or not and forces a third straight punt. The offense failed to produce when it mattered the most. Even a field goal in that situation changes the game. But nah, fumble. Not to mention...this is a mobile QB. MAKE TIME. ROLL OUT. SCRAMBLE. FORCE THE DEFENSE INTO ZONE COVERAGE AND THEN PICK IT APART.
The ball was in his hands though, he was a receiver at that point, and he missed his chance. I’m not blaming him specifically, nor anyone individually, but if you want to hyper-focus on the 4th and 2 fumble play, it was a horrible play call. Stringing out that play to the short side of field? Nah, it failed before it began. The offense did fail, so did the defense, on multiple 4th down conversions, an 82 yard TD run, and TWO individual 100 yard rushers.

No doubt about it that the offense failed when it needed to. No doubt about it that the defense failed to stop the run. No doubt about it that the kicking game was off. Only a biased person blames one specific side. I just can’t view things that way. wrt this game specifically, there is more than enough “blame” to go around. To all three portions of the Saints team.

Maybe if the OL blocks the rusher coming from the blindside Taysom doesn't get stripped from behind which would have been a sack anyway and turnover on downs. Why all the hate on Hill when the whole team played poorly.

Didn’t cost us, but it was still a miss as far as success/fail evaluation on any play. Too wide open to not make that play. That was a “gimmee” to coin the golf phrase, it shouldn’t have been missed.

He was running to his left when he threw the ball, wasn't like he was standing in the pocket. Throws that aren't 100% when making your 4th start in the NFL as a QB.

Fully understand. And agree. Nonetheless, the WR was stupidly wide open.

Probably needs it's own thread however a good week of film study, practice and execution will be required on Sunday.

Let's see how they respond vs the Champs.

I think Hill played a decent game, but turnovers and missed field goals were what stood out to me. I’m not concerned with a team giving up 24 points in a league catered to offense. We need to score. Period. When it’s all said and done the Chiefs are going to score. The Packers are going to score. The elite teams are going to score. Can you get stops at pivotal moments? The Saints defense did that. Offense has to answer the bell.

Back on topic: I believe that Lutz injured his plant foot and is hobbled . He actually went down on the ground after a missed field goal attempt last week. He'll be fine folks with a little time to rest and strengthen his plant leg.

IDK Rez, while I do think the offense and ST (and coaching) were big parts of the loss, I don’t think it’s fair to brush off the D performance as just giving up 24 points in an offensive based league.

Philly hadn’t reached even 20 points in their previous 3 games. Saints hadn’t allowed that many in quite a few. The D gave up well over 400 yards and got 0 sacks....Allowed an obscene amount of rushing yards against a non rushing team. All against a rookie QB who they allowed to spank them (further fueling the belief that the team struggles against backups/rookies that some claim is “unfounded”). Now that sure as heck is a down game for what they had been producing and I bet every player on the D would be among the first to admit that.

Hurts was a spark against Green Bay and he built on that performance. They scored 24 but the offense gift wrapped them 10 with that fumble and the interception. If they scored 24 with no turnovers from the Saints I’d be a little more worried, but like I said before, the bulk of their yards came on one play. They weren’t getting all those yards on the ground from traditional run plays. It was QB scrambles outside of that one chunk play.

Sanders got 82 yards off one carry. He finished with 115 on 14 carries. The other 13 carries were 2.5 yards a carry. Again, I’m not concerned.
