If you have a spare hour, watch this clip for an assessment on Hill.

I can't say I agreed with everything Deuce Windham said (I don't think he's harsh enough on the O line at times) but most of the stuff he says about Taysom are pretty spot on in terms of tape.

Taysom not being able to read a D pre-snap really makes him defeat himself.

Haven't watched it yet, but Brees' quick decision making would cover many of the blemishes of pretty much any offensive line in the NFL.

It could also be that reading the D pre snap may not be as important as it once was and being a “pocket passer” is outdated. Looking at how QBs like Jackson, Wilson, Allen, and even Rogers have been successful when they extended plays by getting out of the pocket for long throws, I wonder if that’s not the way to go. Isn’t that what Hurts just did to the Saints D?

I wouldn't say so. Do you realize that Hurts managed only the second fewest passing yards (167) given up by the Saints all season? The only QB with less (12) was the Bronco's practice squad WR.

Just saying.

Ok, but discarding Hurts, don’t you think that my point about the success of the QBs I listed, along with Murray, mayfield, and others leans validity to the idea of the traditional, immobile, pocket passer being more a relic?

You mean like Robert Griffin III and that guy Kaepernick? Let's see some longevity before deciding it's the future.

Change is it inevitable. Big difference between a mobile QB and a running QB. Now days the QB has to be mobile. Look at the QBs that are having success now...Wilson, Rodgers, Pat Homes, J Allen. Even Big Ben was mobile until injuries slowed him down. It’s just the evolution of the game.

Even in college FB they are looking for mobile QBs. None of the top QBs are pocket only QBs.

I just named a good 5 starting QBs that aren’t pocket passers including starters for many of the Super Bowl favorites and you want longevity ? Take away Rothlesburger Brees, and Brady ( all relics) and there aren’t any teams (Goff maybe) that are going with traditional pocket passers as their future.

And how many are going to be a future? That is yet to be seen. A short run? Yeah. I can see that. Today is a throwaway society. Why not do the same with QB's, I suppose. NFL dynasties have been built on long lasting QB's. That may be over.
