6'5" and 325 lbs seems a little light for his height in the NT position. I've been looking at him for one of the ends. However, I do believe he's going to be a monster with a bit more coaching and experience regardless of where he plays. Maybe he would work out at NT... That would put OLB or OT next on our list in my eyes too. But, what if we pick up an OLB in free agency? Then what, OT or kick ass safety?

hicks is a perfect 34 DE in my book and sliding him at NT on passing downs does not scare me. running downs worries me. you have seen a ton of talk about this here. NT in the draft and a level 2 or 3 FA is needed badly we do not have the cap for anything else. i for one am not to excited with Bunk as a starter but he is what we got. i hope he steps up because if not this could be a very long year for the ILB

Cam Jordan and Broderick Bunkley have shown they can play in 3-4 fronts...

Hicks with more bulk from his rookie season and some development in his skills should be able to play either end or NT...

The rest of our front line guys look like poor fits to the 3-4...

Maybe Johnson could be a backup end?!?

add Jr to the list on the DL. this deal with him going to OLB worries the hell out me. he had issues against run and now i have to think about him coverage? i just have to wait and be proven wrong to be a believer in this OLB move.
so i have him at DE still

I think he gets crushed by the double teams he'll see in a 3-4 as an end...

2013 Saint's Draft Mock (JeanPierre)

[Updated 2013/03/12]

R1(15) Saints select LB Alec Ogletree, Georgia

R2 (45) Forfeit (OL Barrett Jones, Alabama)

R3(75) Saints select QB Tyler Wilson, Arkansas

R4(106) Saints select OT Chris Faulk, LSU

R5(137) Saints select NT TJ Barnes, Georgia Tech

R6(173) Saints select SS Cooper Taylor, Richmond

This is the schedule of players I'd draft, if available, based on where the team is on the morning of the new league year and onset of free agency...

Re: 2013 NFL Draft - Saints Big Board

The New Orleans Saints sent four scouts to watch Southern Miss LB Jamie Collins at the school's pro day.

The team is moving to a 3-4 defense this off-season under newly hired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and will be looking to add edge-rushers. The National Football Post's Russ Lande recently stated that teams are fine with Collins as a 3-4 defender but are struggling to figure out where he plays in a 4-3 defense. The Saints wouldn't appear to have this issue if they draft him.

Collins will be a late second, early third round pick - we may not have a pick other than our first at selecting him...
