Risk is my biggest concern.... as we can not afford to be wrong and have him come in and have lost his step. Sharper had one good year left in him and we got that but after 2009 he was done. |

re: Nnamdi Asomugha (All in one)
So.. I am honestly asking. Do you think its a better chance his play has dropped off in the last two years because he was in Philly or because he has been playing for 10 years and lost his step... Ive heard a lot of what I call experts (that have participated in this game from playing to coaching to FO) say he has lost a step or two at 30 Yo.
With 8 years in the league before he went to Philly, he had to have known how the place was.. He also does not play special teams anymore, which I think lowers his value even more. |

re: Nnamdi Asomugha (All in one)
I am of the opinion that after Jim Johnson died in 2008 (Eagles last deep playoff run) they never replaced the guy. Eventually the horrible defense play and mid-season defensive coaching shuffle contributed to Andy Reid getting canned.
Great read: Eagles Must Find The Next Jim Johnson - SB Nation Philly As for Asomugha, the past 3 or 4 times I saw the Eagles play the past couple years I didn't key in on him, but he started. I also felt like the Eagles had talent on their defense, a big beefy d-line, quick DB's, and they played like they were stoned or something. Watching both the Dallas and Atlanta games last year was almost laughable for the Eagles D as a whole. Been proven that giving a veteran a new team can get him to perform again. He is only 31 so he has a good 3 to 4 years left in him. Remember, Nnamdi is a local (from Lafayette, LA) so it would be a great place to close-out his career. |

Picking up players with only a few years left means that every few years we are going through this same exact cycle... I stopped buying anything but Deuce jerseys because of that LOL. |

re: Nnamdi Asomugha (All in one)
I['m not going to blame Nnamdi Asomugha or anyone on the Eagles defense for the issues. Mainly I'm going to blame Juan Castillo for never having coached the defensive side of the field when he took over. He made good folks look bad and was NEVER able to bring that defense together

re: Nnamdi Asomugha (All in one)
When I mentioned earlier about why Nnamdi's counting stats weren't there as a Raider... here is the evidence.
Backs up the majority of what I discussed earlier. System, etc. |
