Nnamdi Asomugha (All in one)

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; Why is there no news on this guy? You'd think if anyone was interested they'd already pick him up. The only teams I see making a play for him are pats, chiefs or jets if not us. But if jets ...

Re: Nnamdi is now available.

Harper's going to get traded or cut, Smith restructured his base from 9mil to 3mil
and Vilma restructured his base from 4.75mil to 1mil! So we saved 9. 75 mil on that then cut Herring saved another 1.75mil so they started 6 mil over but shed almost 12mil So we should be around 6mil to the good!

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is pushing the Saints to sign Asomugha.

Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is believed to be making a big push to get Nnamdi to New Orleans, per a source with knowledge of Asomugha’s situation.

Well, considering the Eagles fired everybody in their secondary, perhaps he was right. Their secondary was maybe worse than ours last year. Besides, he was probably tired of everybody saying he was a bust, when if they would have used him right we wouldn't be having this discussion. If you hire the second-best (arguably best) man-press corner in the league and then make him play zone, he will probably fall off (and he did). Ron would use him right, and with Keenan locking down the other side, I don't think he'd be as sullen here.
