Yes. Not sure why there paying him if Sean isn't going to use him, but yeah, he's back in the black and gold...

Maybe, just maybe, Payton knows that his QB's best friend is a good running game. We no longer have Drew to rely on winning games and we'll need to mix it up to keep defenses honest under a new QB which we didn't have to have with Drew under center. I thought Murray had been cut too but I was corrected. It's just been such a quiet offseason besides hearing about our cuts and how they would affect us. He has just flown under the radar this offseason.

I really am a big fan of Murray and believe that he is a great player who can get you those difficult 3rd downs to keep the chains moving. He also knocks off some long runs as well and looks good doing it. He could be a feature back and I'm glad that we have him. He's a quiet man who likes to bowl over linemen and LB'ers. That is my kind of guy!

You'd thought he'd realized it with an injured Brees?

By my count, we're still five roster spots for camp available...

WR-Z (2) 10 - Tre'Quan Smith

I could see a breakout season. 3quan was a vertical threat (same with Callaway) coming out of UCF & now he'll have a QB that make the long ball throw & keep defenses honest.

Not to mention this is year 4, in a contract year and knows the system.

Of course the key words are contract year. Show up or ship out. I was high on him his first year but his inconsistency got me off his band wagon by his second year. His third year just validated my opinion that he could make plays more often but he doesn't. I hope a strong armed QB hitting him deep will change my opinion on him. We really need him to step up to the #2 receiver this year. Hopefully he does.

Nah, see him as a solid #3. He excels at blocking but does not consistently create separation.

I truly believe if Callaway can stay healthy, he will be a legit #2 WR this season.

See the same. We'll see. It may be that Brees' issues with injuries the last two years may have retarded Smith's development or effectiveness.

He'd broke out in Year 3 if he was going to do it; he may flash in a couple of games this year, but it's time to move on from Tre'quan...
