Im not that into heat (it does have its place) so I Don’t know what was in the sausage itself, but they had a Diablo Dog you could order that, if you could finish it, you got a Tshirt, name on the Wall plaque of fame (less than 20 folks). We went for a Friday Lunch and this guys goes for it. The looks on his face…the color changes…the sweat…. It was priceless. Too bad it was before the days of Smart phones or I’d have a classic video. Guy didn’t make it back to work.
I grew up eating extremely spicy foods. We would eat fresh cayenne's with our Southern Illinois (dad's home) soul food dinners every night. Then we discovered Thai peppers with Thai food. Then he started growing and cooking with all sorts of the hottest peppers he could find. He would have loved all of these peppers that can now be found easily. We lost him to Agent Orange induced cancer ten years ago.

Was in Austin area a couple weeks ago and stopped at a hole in the wall place called Louisiana Crab Shack in Georgetown. Got 3 pounds of boiled crawfish. Good stuff. It’s not on my menu tonight, but to any Austin area Saints I recommend it!

I'm getting ready to go to Valdez this weekend to catch some Silver salmon and fill up the shrimp pots.

That’s awesome ice! Let us know how the catch goes!

Re: What’s on the menu!

I had a bittersweet trip. I was texted early Friday morning from JP's phone (from JoAnn I assume) saying that he had passed away. I'd like to believe that he was there with me.

Lemme guess... they let you put the spices on afterwards, then they also brag about that. I went through a similar experience when I lived in Austin not too long ago.

This is some seriously sad news. He and I had been sharing PM's for awhile about health concerns and I was just about to touch base with him. It's depressing that I'll never read his comments again that I always agreed with 100%. I'm sorry for his family's loss. RIP JP. Enjoy fishing in Alaska with iceshack my friend.
