Re: Luke Johnson | Taysom vs. Jameis QB battle: Taysom Hill closes on a strong note in 2-minute offense
I'm thinking for Coach Payton the day 1 starter at QB will be one of the least of his concerns. He knows what he's got with both Guys and he will tweak
the Offense around what works. For the last few years most of us dreaded the retirement of Drew and glad he got out while he was mostly in one piece. The anticipation of this season and how it will go without Brees is any-ones guess. But this is Saints football and for a lot of the early years we've seen some tough and brutal times (putting it mildly). Now even Sean goes into this season for the first time without Drew can't imagine that's going to be a walk in the park for him. |

Yeah, I know you think so, but I'm not as convinced. If he's so decided, what made him decide? Practice doesn't show it, and apparently neither does preseason (so far), why should he favor either (or for that matter any of the 3)?

How do you know practice doesn't show it? We were not there seeing what he saw. We were not there when he talked to each of them person on person. He has far more access to those factors in the decision than anyone else. Right?

I think Sean Payton has a loyalty to Taysom and is intrigued by the possibilities of tailoring his offense to a mobile QB. That’s my speculation on why we’re even having a QB battle.
