Luke Johnson | Taysom vs. Jameis QB battle: Taysom Hill closes on a strong note in 2-minute offense

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; From what I saw of Taysom last night is that he is still staring down WR's and can't "throw them open". Winston, even playing with the 2s/3s & guys with no chemistry looked more comfortable in the pocket. Ultimately Sean ...

Next preseason game -- > primetime in the Dome vs Jags.

Neither one has separated himself as the starter, yet...
In that case, if it comes down to this, Winston has the greater experience and Hill has far more value in other aspects of the game. Anything resembling a tie should go to Winston.

This. I see always giving Hill the first shot if Payton has already decided on Winston. That relays to the team that Hill was given every chance to Hill to overcome.

I'm thinking for Coach Payton the day 1 starter at QB will be one of the least of his concerns. He knows what he's got with both Guys and he will tweak
the Offense around what works. For the last few years most of us dreaded the retirement of Drew and glad he got out while he was mostly in one piece.
The anticipation of this season and how it will go without Brees is any-ones guess. But this is Saints football and for a lot of the early years we've seen some tough and brutal times (putting it mildly). Now even Sean goes into this season for the first time without Drew can't imagine that's going to be a walk in the park for him.

Not a walk in the park for sure, but an adventure instead. I think he is embracing this opportunity.

Sean's going to tailor an offense to whichever QB he chooses as starter, he's not going to show his hand in preseason.

His hand has already been drawn. He knows exactly what he is going to do and with whom.

Yeah, I know you think so, but I'm not as convinced. If he's so decided, what made him decide? Practice doesn't show it, and apparently neither does preseason (so far), why should he favor either (or for that matter any of the 3)?

How do you know practice doesn't show it? We were not there seeing what he saw. We were not there when he talked to each of them person on person. He has far more access to those factors in the decision than anyone else. Right?
