Luke Johnson | Taysom vs. Jameis QB battle: Taysom Hill closes on a strong note in 2-minute offense

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think Sean Payton has a loyalty to Taysom and is intrigued by the possibilities of tailoring his offense to a mobile QB. That’s my speculation on why we’re even having a QB battle....

And this is by far the most logical impression.

Thus far neither looks to be the future. There’s a lot of preseason left but I hoped to see more from both these Qbs at this point.

I suspect when we see the Jags in the Dome we will have a better peek at how the Coach plans to run the Offense.
The thing is when Drew was around we weren't even talking about this subject.

#Persepective

Name, Career Starts (Quarterback)

Drew Brees, 286 GS

Jameis Winston, 70 GS

Taysom Hill, 4 GS

Point is - don't expect either of the competing QBs to look like Drew Brees, Greatest Passer in NFL History, immediately...

Finally got to see the first half. Both QBs looked about the same in effectiveness. Both had a couple nice throws. Both had some bad plays. It definitely hurt them not having effective running production apart from one drive. Wouldn’t say either one outplayed the other. Difficult to judge with Hill going with the ones and Winston the twos.

Come back to me when you sober up. Winston is our QB this season.

Sean is the type of coach who when a player needs 60 yards in the 4th quarter of the last game of the season to make another $20,000 gets him 61 yards.

He's been loyal to injured players, role players, UDFAs alike.

Taysom earned the opportunity to lose QB1 here.

And yet CGM feels disrespected. 🙄
