this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; With CSP now “retired”, I honestly have no idea what position this team will draft in the 1st round....

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting
Don't be surprised if we pick first round in the trenches again K. It has been the go to draft pick for the linemen which we covet. Yes, Peat and Ruiz don't deserve the spots where they were picked. Possibly even Payton Turner, who may take as long to develop as Davenport who is finally playing very good ball when he's available.

![]() You can always select quality O lineman in the mid-rounds. Two years later, the Ruiz pick still is a head-scratcher for me Rugs. Looking at the last 2 weeks of the NFL playoffs ... every team has quality WR's #1-3 on the depth chart. Legitimate WR's. Let's not ignore the WR position in the 2022 NFL draft ![]() |

What I'm saying is I'm reluctant to invest a 1R pick in one when offensive line is as bad as it is right now and we can't give our QBs time, and the investment in Kamara... I'd rather see us secure an affordable, proven FA WRz like a DJ Chark or Christian Kirk opposite CantGuardMike, and draft WRs on Day 2 and Day 3... WR-X (2) 13 - Michael Thomas, 1 - Marquez Callaway , 17 - Kevin White (RFC 2022)WR-S (2) 00 - Day 2 Pick, 00- Day 3 Pick 80 - Kawaan Baker (RFC 2022), 84 - Lil’Jordan Humphrey (RFA 2022)WR-Z (2) 00 - D.J Chark/Christian Kirk, 11 - Deonte Harty (RFA 2022) , 17 - Jalen McCleskey (RFC 2022), 18 - Easop Winston (RFC 2022)Wouldn't mind seeing a Kawann Baker, Kevin White, Jalen McClesky making the next step into that 4/5/6 WR spot(s) either... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting
Assuming we don’t re-sign Armstead, here’s a 3-rounder:
![]() Interesting to note that WR Kawaan Baker caught our eye last year while scouting Jalen Tolbert. |

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting
My general feeling is to not sign Armstead, instead spend money on a free agent WR. Then, draft a Tackle in first round and a WR in the second. Just my opinion.
