I'm still amazed that 'some people' (see post #409) tried to assess Book's ability based on that game. That was a blood bath brought on by poor management and absurd covid ignorance.

I posted, "We just drafted a project QB in Book. Why draft another right away when we have one that can start (Hill) under contract, and another that is in my opinion much better that we would have a good chance of bringing back in Winston?" I was at that game and he had no chance at times. There were times when he had someone open, but he's just a rookie and could not be expected to make that deep a read in a progression. The point of my post was that we had Book already and there is no reason to draft yet another rookie when the one we have hasn't even been given a chance to mature into the position. |
